  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just noticed today that my front winged emblem is "missing" the bottom half of the insert (see image). No idea how or when this happened but I'm wondering if that piece is a decal that can be replaced or if I'll need to replace the whole thing. If its a decal that can be replaced any pointers on where I could find one?

Thanks!
Kirk

Re: From emblem question

The emblems are available here

I think the hood looks better naked myself, but to each his own.

Pretty sure you won't be able to get just the decal. If you want a new one, eBay will be your best bet. Mine came with the front wing, and I've been thinking about removing it as it would look cleaner without it IMHO. I just don't want to remove it and then regret it, so I haven't done it yet:o Not that I couldn't stick it back on LOL.

Thanks for all the replies. I'd thought about just removing it but it was on there when I bought the car so I'm not sure how long it's been there and I'm kind of worried about the paint looking different underneath (car has 35k miles). Guess I could remove it and if there is a paint issue I could just put a new one on. Are they difficult to remove?

Are they difficult to remove?

No very easy to remove. Let the car sit out in the sun for a few hours or heat the emblem (gently) with a hair dryer. Take a piece of dental floss and wrap it around your fingers. Use a sawing motion with the floss behind the emblem to pull it away from the double-sided tape. Use some Goo Gone to remove any tape residue.

Spraying with WD 40 and letting it sit in the sun helps a great deal before using dental floss

Took mine off with 29k on it and it looked like day 1
