Little confused. Bought car slightly used. Cane with bracket but no screws. It appears that i must use metal screws to go through the backing off the grill to attach bracket. Can this be true?

It is, if you want mine I will happily mail it to you. Putting a front plate on that amazing front grill is horrifying, but to each their own.
