Fuel filler/trunk release

I know this discussion of the fuel door has come up before but I can now confirm the door is plastic. On the plus side it’s very heavy plastic. On the minus side with sufficient force it can be broken and it was yesterday. What’s more depressing then the repair itself is the way it looks. Sounds crazy right. Anyway, the part is $68.00 and the labor to paint and install is $140.00. Luckily, it’ll be done at my dealer’s collision shop which I’ve had experience with before as my wife likes to test bumpers. I will be more careful at the gas pump from here on.

Bummer, surprised the fuel door is not available pre-painted/ molded in color from the Genesis. Specially since it’s plastic. I had side view mirrors that were molded plastic on a car and one needed replacing for it broke off. It came color matched from the factory. Was $250 as well.

Mirrors stick out and get broken more often. Unpainted, they inventory 1 fuel door instead of 10 or 12.
