  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well the demographics are getting closer to what I'd have guessed. Old farts are down to 15% now.

Looks like the bell curve I would've expected now. I'd imagine there's not a lot of people below 30 buying $50k cars nor many 65+ people looking to buy a G70

I know if I had gone for a G90 I'd have skewed those results, but I actually expected some more sub 25s to be around.

I guess 52k is a lot, but with a lease and somewhat smart-ish money management (you know, aside from actually leasing a car), it doesn't break me.

I just hit 23 and was coming out of a 2015 Genesis sedan, and was considering a G90. I don't come across many with similar tastes, they all generally go Mustang, Camaro, BRZ, or WRX (if they go 4 door).

Depends on circumstances. Single? Possibly living at home? Sure, someone like that can afford a nice car.
Married, bought a house, have a kid, priorities are different and car comes in third or fourth. Its a choice.

If you have a Genesis and are building equity in real estate you are doing great and will have a good future. That would be my choice for smart-ish money management but others may differ. Pay extra every month on your mortgage to save a bundle and eventually a nice car is easily more affordable.

EdP you are correct... for me with two kids in college and my third starting next year I opted to save some money by getting the 2.0T instead of the 3.3T. Love the car but love my kids more...

This is my first vehicle over 50k CAD.

My wife told me to get the Sport thinking I would miss my 3.7L TL.
My decision making process was this:
  1. No blank buttons
  2. Brown Nappa leather
  3. Small engine

I have never seen a G70 off dealer property and am comforted that I will never see one ever with a driver my age, if the poll represents owners generally. (I am in that top end group)
I sold a Volvo hardtop convertible for this car and the wife has a Miata. We drag the demos upward in all our car choices.

I had a Miata a few years back and definitely felt as if I was dragging the median age of Miata owners down

Well at least I have 5 years till I hit the 65+ category.

Surprised, but happy to actually see so many older guys choosing a car like the G70. (y)

Definitely not the norm or expected, but gives me hope that even as my body starts to ache more I will still choose cars that are more on the "fun" side than the "comfort" side. :)

For me, as well as others, it is partly what this car is, and also what my previous car was not. I had a Volvo hardtop convertible and the rear seat had minimal utility. The extra weight and lack of feeling in the steering was an issue. Some design problems led to excessive tire wear. This continuous heat in summer made top down driving a rare thing. It was time for a fully useful car, with driving capabilities, reliable, good value, and long life. There was 2250$ of anticipated maintenance and replacement in the next 2+years facing me with the Volvo. My first look was Volvo S60, then A4, then after two months the G70 and I stopped looking there. All my current concerns were addressed in one choice.

yep ya get older and like me it’s a good day when nothing “New” hurts. 😉

Good to see that there are some old farts that like a great ride. I'm looking to be the oldest here (80 going on 81), but don't mind some company. For me, I wasn't able to own a good driver's car until I retired at 60 when I started with all RWDs (BMW 325, Z4, Cadillac ATS, MB C300c-not too bad, but certainly more luxury than sport). And now the best of the lot, the G70 3.3T Prestige/Elite...
