  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone. I’m excited to be part of this community!

Over the past few months, I’ve been literally parsing hundreds of manufacturer’s sales spreadsheets to compile automotive sales figures for all vehicles sold in the US starting from 2005 and putting it up publicly in an easy to digest format for the greater automotive community. I’ve been breaking down the numbers down to sales over the year, quarter and month (if applicable).

Just wanted to share some numbers with the community here.

Happy to post any other sales numbers for any other vehicles or having these numbers be broken down every further if you would be interested in seeing that!

Is this different than what @YEH has been doing for our community forever? : May 2020 sales

This is just one of his posts, and he always provides monthly info on a regular basis. Just sayin

Pretty awesome first post.

Global would be nice... and comparison to the Stinger

Always nice to see additional resources (esp. as it is getting tougher to find monthly sales data on a timely basis; Hyundai does a pretty good job at it).

Hey CF - where do you get the data set and do you have a website which has the spreadsheets that you have compiled?

Hey @YEH, I compile and parse through datasets from manufacturers websites and sometimes from private services and I link them on my website

I'm not sure am I allowed to post outside links, so happy to take down the link, but I think its a great free resource to the Genesis community and overall automotive community.

I'm happy to collab with you to provide you any data you maybe interested in and/or let you know if I find some numbers before you are able to every month as it seems like you are the OG member of this community!

Nah, I'm just interested in the biz side of things and have gotten sales figures from manufacturer's sales releases (there aren't that many who do it on a monthly basis anymore and Toyota always seems to be late in releasing their sales breakdown) or various websites that do what you do (tho, they too, seem to be getting slower in updating their info.), so don't have the access to certain sources like you.

Will definitely check out your site.

Btw, do you also do datasets for Canada?

(Nevermind, see that you do!)

Yeah, I can speak more about that. More manufacturers are moving towards quarterly reporting, as opposed to monthly reporting. I know Nissan actually moved to this model this year and iirc, is the first Japanese automotive manufacturer to move to this. I believe American manufacturers were the first to move to this model of reporting a few years back.

Yeah, I also supply Canada sales numbers for hundreds of vehicles. I'd think it would be a great analysis to compare the two numbers. Again, not sure if I'm allowed to post outside links so happy to remove link.
