  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Title hopefully says it all. I'm hoping to disable the annoying buzzing sound that goes off when I exit the vehicle and the car is running. I have searched google and these threads and found nothing, perhaps I'm not calling it the right thing but if it is here I appologise thanks.

I'm 99% sure it is government mandated and 100% sure Genesis lawyers mandated. If you do a Google search you will find there have been deaths from people leaving cars running in the garage and later people in the house killed by CO. It is to notify you the car is running.

Here, I did it for you and got 643,000 hits
Keyless cars causing dozens of deaths. Dozens of people have been poisoned by carbon monoxide after failing to turn off the ignition on keyless cars, according to the New York Times. Its report found that 28 people had died and 45 others had suffered injuries since 2006.May 15, 2018

I have an enclosed garage (not everyone does) and I installed a CO detector there just for this reason. Might I forget? Might I be working in the engine, go inside the house for a while and then be distracted while in there? Might the wife drive it and forget? All true.

Thank you all so much I 100% understand why this is a thing. I have a Mustang that just makes a quick beep from the horn and just wasn't used to the long loud buzzing, I'm ok with this anything to help people be more aware I guess. Thank you for your quick response

Good point. Even if you have an all electric house, if the car goes in the attached garage you should have one. I have them in the house but will add one to the garage.

All the annoying things with this car (even though so so so slight) have to do with features mandated by lawyers lol. The beeping definitely could be shorter/quieter. I"m pretty sure my neighbours are wondering what the hell is going on when I leave the wife in the car and run back to the house to get something or lock the door, etc. and the car goes off like an alarm. So minor, but is annoying.

The car doesn't yell at you if you leave the key in the car when you exit. So if you're just making a quick trip inside, leave the key in the vehicle.

Nor it will yell when some scumbag get in to and fly away with it. :hillarious:
Sorry but I couldn't control myself.

Yes I get that but having to removing it from your pockets all the time is annoying and IMO grabbing something out of my pocket while sitting in the car is difficult. I even removed my house keys from my FOB for easier access

I've found that if I don't completely shut the car door the alarm for the fob being outside the running vehicle does not happen.

Running car with the door open. All that’s missing is the Steal Me sign 😀

I would prefer to shut and lock the door while the car is running which was possible with last car. Closing the door but not to where it latches is preferable to the alternatives. Which is either the car shrilling at 3am when I'm going to work. Or starting car, pulling forward turn it off. Open gate start car back out turn car off close gate. Start car a third time and drive to work.
