^ agreed. isn't that how appointment based services work? seems pretty straighforward to me.I bet you would not be my customer. If I could accommodate you I would but I'd not make someone else wait if I had a full schedule. Commitment matters.
the local toyota dealership has a good system: anything other than an oil change service is a booked appointment. but a simple oil change service need not be booked and is on a first come 'express' basis. they try to keep turnaround to <1hr, but obviously if they get swamped with unbooked express services the wait time will increase - and be not-so-express. they essentially reserve some of their bays for oil changes only and leave the rest of their technicians to the higher-effort services.
with my G70, i do a 6 month OCI on my own dime in between 'free' Genesis annual services - force of habit. for this i either DIY or take my own oil/filter to a local quick change place that i've used for years and trust. they give me full access to the pit to inspect the undercarriage and their work, and only charge $25 for labour. i've never waited more than ~10 minutes. there's no reason i'd use a dealership for a simple oil change service, except for my wife's Highlander because i can't do it cheaper any other way.
