  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 getting serviced, driving a G80

Nah, I was referring to the thing being wide AF, but that too I suppose ;)
I used to think my TL SH-AWD was a boat moreso because it was 194" long. The G70 is a supermodel in comparison at 184" with a slim body line and a big butt!

The G80 is a boat, and in my opinion doesn’t handle as well as other large sport sedans I have owned, and the electric steering while a nice feature for LKA presents a certain disconnected feel with the road. My RCF had the electric steering assist as well, but it actually loosened or stiffened depending on the drive mode, sport plus making it super stiff and my preferred feel. The G80 doesn’t adjust and with LKA on sometimes feels like it is fighting your for control. Defiantly not a “sport” feel in that sense, I also don’t like that in a sport model with sport mode the transmission doesn’t hold the gear and arbitrarily kicks back into drive on a whim.

But I like most didn’t buy it for its handling or track prowess, we bought it because of the sportier look both interior and exterior. If they had offered a Ultimate 5.0 with the sport appearance package I would have gone that route because I prefer a big V8 in a highway touring cruiser, which is essentially what the G80 is.
I beg to differ because my 2015 Genesis handles like a very tight sport sedan in sport mode. It handles like a car half it size. However, I do have high performance Falken summer tires which could help the cornering grip. The only other large car that I have driven that feel as sporty was an late model BMW 5 series which is a smaller car actually since it is lighter and shorter.

The Genesis/G80 is a odd size sedan which falls between most midsize(BMW 5 series) and a Mercedes S-class and weight about as much as the larger S-class.

What car did you own that was the same size and weight as the 2015-up Genesis that handled better? My Genesis is as wide as my Escalade and just as long which make it very large car.
