  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80
The dealers I called this week say everything is in limbo and they have no idea if/when the G70 will arrive.

They say there is some sort of legal hold up and no one knows if they will decide to sell Genesis

Any more info?

Can I import a G70 from Arizona? I thing there are additional emission requirements

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe most, if not all, cars sold in the US also pass CARB (California Air Resources Board) emission testing so you should be fine buying in AZ and registering in CA.

Wholeheartedly agree. Keep the snark to yourself.

You are correct that all Genesis vehicles are 50 state certified. However, before I left California 5 years ago if I remember correctly there are registration and tax issues in California regarding bringing in out of state new cars. Please check with CA DMV for up to date requirements.

I called 5 Dealers in Orange County, no cars yet, and no real info. Most said they hope to have cars by the end of the year. One thing about buying in say AZ. When you being it to Ca. you will have to pay the tax applicable to where you live and pass a smog test and have the certificate when you register the car and get your tags. One other thing, when you buy a new car in Ca. no smog check for 6 years, a new registered out of state car will need one every 2 years.

Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but can anyone confirm that all G70's are 50-state (or CARB) compliant? I live in CA and it looks like I can only find G70 (the 2.0 Sport) out of state.
