  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I looked through the previous threads and saw bits and pieces of quoted/actual rates for the G70. Thought a dedicated thread might be helpful to potential buyers. Here are the quotes I got....

Ameriprise Insurance (Costco Auto) Quotes (SoCal - LA County, 25 Male, No Accidents)
  • 2019 G70 2.0t Advanced - $140 per month
  • 2019 G70 2.0t Higher Trims - $150 per month
  • 2019 G70 3.3t All Trims (from what they told me) - $180 per month

I believe rates are dependent on location (which you don’t supply) and driving record and age etc. So these numbers might be useful relative to each other but i don’t think will apply to anyone else in particular.

@Mcc added in that pertinent detail!

Maybe you should consider moving and getting older 😊

Rates are different based on location, demographics and driving history, theres too many variables for you to compare your rates to others unfortunately

For what level of coverage?? So many other factors too; miles driven? is it driven to work or for pleasure? Driving history? Are you in a city? Is it parked inside?

Credit score age and driving record are biggest factors. Those rates seem outrageous to me. Progesssive here. $190 for six months total.

holy crap. this is full coverage?
Yes with 500k/500k coverage . Age 46 and Very high credit score. Car is leased. Keep your nose clean young friends !

There have been threads on insurance rates here before. Too many factors to really get meaningful comparisons. Biggest thing I can offer is check with multiple companies. I had been with Allstate for a number of years and was expecting my new rate to be similar to my G37S, rate almost doubled on my G70. Shopped around and found a rate with Travelers that was pretty close to my present rate on my G37S so I switched companies. Don’t assume your present company always has the best rates. The $190 rate someone had, damn that is cheap for 6 months. Your state and city must have really good drivers and no uninsured drivers, My state, Texas, not so much.

Also helps that Portland has lower rates than the national average ;) still a nice price

Ha. Yes. Not a terrible city to drive in. Just a terrible city to live in. What you save in insurance they get back in taxes. Lol

I've not heard a rate like that in decades. Even for a car that never moves.

How many drivers? That's $184 per vehicle. If you had only one I doubt you'd have that rate.

Me and wifey.

Hey guys (gals) - a 3.3T for me (45 y/o male) is only ~$950/year (I didn't quote the 2.0T) with great coverage ($250 deductibles and very high uninsured motorist due to umbrella policy). We only have one other car, live in suburban Atlanta.
Note that my wife scraped another car in a parking lot five years ago, and that was surcharging us about $700/year (crazy) spread across the two cars.
