  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys, new person here to the forums...This place has always been helpful in my Google searches 😁.

Long story short, I have leased a G70 and am a few months short of my turn-in date. I am interested in doing a lease buyout...However, my name and my spouse's are on the title (which we already have for this car). Just us, not the dealership or anyone else...Is that normal? I thought for a classic lease their name was supposed to be on it? I know I should've caught this prior but I didn't think anything of it at the time. Thoughts?

Can I sell this thing outright?

Do you actually have a paper title? What state are you in? Some stated title cars differently. Here in Florida I have had digital titles and never had a paper copy. And you usually don't get the title until you pay off the loan.

I don't think you can sell the car unless you have the title? I may be wrong, but I think that's how it goes in all states.

Good luck!

I do have the paper title, in Oklahoma. In my name also. Strangely, I found out that the automated Genesis system doesn't see my contract as a lease either. I did establish payment terms for 36 months though with the intent to return later when that time was up, just like a lease. Weird deal, not sure what the dealer was working.

Not identified on the title? OP makes no mention of listed lienholder

It's me OP. Lienholder is Genesis Finance. Title has my name and my spouse only. When I call GF they don't identify what I'm doing as a lease. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get through to a real person for days, not sure what operation they're running over there right now.
