  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 maintenance schedule?

Quick FYI...talked to 2 service managers. Genesis wants them to use 0W30 FULLY synthetic...and that's what they are doing. Hyundai uses a synthetic blend. So don't let anyone tell you otherwise :)
Oh thanks I need to look more into this then, because I would MUCH rather have full synthetic in my car

Should use the full synthetic, as I was told!
Told by who? It must meet the specs called out in the manual. That is the only thing you have to follow. Check the spec, check the oil. Pretty simple, really.

My friend, a mechanic. He said the purity is higher on full synthetic and protect the engine better.

I don’t think anyone wants impure oil but I doubt that is a problem.

I imagine purity is a factor, but there is more needed. Distilled water is pure but probably would not work so well.

Specifications such as ACEA A5 must be met. Most are synthetic, but it does not have to be, but the spec will let you know it will work properly in your engine.

Back in high school (1963) I had a '53 Mercury. I used to buy re-refined oil at the Merit gas station. It did not look all that pure but was cheap. Don't recall the price, but half regular oil. Gas was 22.9 at the time too.

I hope that 53 Mercury lived a long and glorious life, chopped and channeled, tucked and pleated, 8 coats of deep raspberry paint and a wild steering wheel. (but I doubt it)

Nice fantasy but never happened that way.
I did take off the emblems. If it had a fluid it leaked too. Yellow with a black top, two door hardtop. Tires were re-treads.
