  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 mostly not responding to BlueLink commands; probably going to need a new head-unit

My car will only respond to a Connected Service command immediately after a head-unit reset. After a reset, it responds to the first command, then shortly after it won't respond furthermore. I've done several head-unit resets and even got Mapnsoft 14 and installed it with the results being reproducible.

I've been in touch with Genesis and they've been helpful, but it has to be escalated to the technicians now; waiting to hear back from them. If it needs replacement (and I believe it will), this would be the second brand-new Genesis I've bought that needed a head-unit replacement. IMHO Genesis can't move on from Harman Kardon fast enough.

Mine is Lexicon brand.
Why yours is different?
Does G70 come with different varieties?

Lexicon is a sub-brand of Harman Kardon.

Gotcha.
For a switch.
Bang & Olufsen would be my 1st choice.

I actually don't think it sounds bad? It sounds better than my 2015 but about on par with my 2010. It's just the reliability and the history of problems, going all the way back to 2009.

IMO.
The G70 acoustically sounds better than my '13 r-spec (18 speakers).
The G70 highs are a bit more pristine with better clarity.
The mids are sweet.
The low is much quicker with authority.
I have to credit it to better technologies/speakers and smaller cabin.
And the wife's Santa Fe Infinity sounds pretty darn good too.

What's the symptom? Push the button on the mirror and nothing happens? Or, it ignores your voice commands?

It's the remote commands it won't respond to. Can't lock car remotely, can't start car remotely, from the Genesis phone app. The modem in the car can send data out but is not responding to commands from 'the Enterprise' (the Enterprise is receiving the command from the phone but can't contact the car when to execute the command).

May not be the infotainment system then....could be some other component down the chain, part of the CAN BUS maybe.

Good luck.
