  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Everything I’ve read said to update the map with the engine running. I would not think that this would draw much power from the battery. I pushed the start button (without touching the brake) and put the car in accessory mode and inserted the SD card with the update. After about twenty minutes the update was done and all is fine. It was 30 degrees outside and maybe 45 in the garage. I had a lithium ion starter/charger available, but didn’t need it. There was no “battery drain” message on the screen either.

How is Genesis Connected Services working after the update? I did mine with an SD Card sent to me by Genesis, and it went fine....except that my head-unit no longer receives a signal from cell phone towers, and Connected Services won't work as a result.

That's why I've been putting off my map update for the last week since I got my sd card in the mail, I'm typically only driving for 10-15 minutes at a time. I imagine as long as the car's battery isn't in an overly discharged state to begin with, and the ventilation system isn't running then this should be just fine to update as you did. But the idea of a dead battery was in the back of my head, so I figured I would let somebody else be the guinea pig for this. ;)

Dumb question. Are we supposed to be sent Nav Updates automatically (in the mail)? I haven't received anything.

If you are in Canada you have to request it from the dealership. They will order the SD card and you can just pick it up, or they will do it at your next service. Either way, free for 5 years up to twice a year.

I'm in the US. So I've gone to the MapnSoft site for the US and have attempted to create an account. I get a message indicating: "Test: Account Created" but then nothing happens. I've tried to login with the credentials I entered but it gives me an error saying no account exists. So I'm at a loss.

Give MapnSoft a call.

Any new updates on problems with this latest update? I downloaded the update to an SD card but I am holding off applying it since folks are mentioning that it may whack out some things out such as "my head-unit no longer receives a signal from cell phone towers, and Connected Services won't work as a result."

There’s a new tool in map version 13.5 I stumbled on. I’m not sure if it existed in prior versions but it sure was a useful tool for me. It allowed me to transfer my navigation entries from my Santa Fe to my G70. I’ve built up a considerable list of entries in the Santa Fe and did not look forward to manually put them in the G70. I have version 13.5 in both vehicles. I already had 3 new entries in the G70 so I downloaded both vehicles into separate USB sticks in hope of possibly being able to edit them in my computer and just adding the 3 new entries in. This was of course if the files were of a distinguishable type. After numerous attempts at trying to identify the type of editor alas none was found. So, I added the entries manually in the car. Of particular note is that using the same USB stick that your music is on is doable since the system created a separate folder and created two files one for each category of entry. It would have been nice to able to edit the files in the computer since that would have meant that entries could be created and them uploaded to vehicle. For those of us with a similar situation and close map versions this is a very handy method of updating entries in the navigation.

Just got the new 13.5 update and Genesis connected services also not working here after the update....

I have my 13.5 SD card, but have held off on upgrading due to reports of this very issue. Has anyone done the update and not lost the Connected Services?

I updated to 13.5, but I ordered the SD card from the MapnSoft website. Followed the basic directions, it updated without any problems - but, afterwords it wouldn't let me do voice navigation for some reason... Kept saying it wasn't available. Then, a couple days later, it just started working again as if nothing ever happened. Lol. Been great since then. Haha.

For the voice issue... You have the use network for search feature on. The car uses Google to search and decode what you said.

If you have the feature on there's not much difference between the mirror and steering wheel search.

I’m not sure that is correct. I believe it ONLY uses Google search for the mirror button.

It's in the settings. You can turn it off if you'd like.

They call it unified search and added it in v 12.5 or 13.
ok thanks. First I’ve heard of that.
