  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Scroll to the timeline chart. I wonder if this is an ackowledgement that their current F/L didn't get the attention they got with the original G70. Same deal with the catfish sonata.

Methinks this is a powertrain upgrade, likely just the 2.5T (not for all markets due to displacement taxes).

What's interesting is that Hyundai is planning to one-up Kia (K8) with the next Grandeur.

They intend to make it a FWD flagship sedan, so even more space and luxury than the K8 (which is already nicer than the ES).

Can the F/L moniker be used for introduction of just new engines? I am no car industry expert, but I always thought facelift meant changes to the exterior design. I guess that could include very minor front bumper changes that barely alters the look of the prior design. But I hope they make some enhancements to the bugeye look.

I'm almost certain that what they're referring to for the 2021 facelift is the G70 Wagon/Shooting Brake.

Hyundai/Kia's facelift window is usually 3 years, and the Palisade/Sonata have both been out in Korea since 2019, so a 2022 facelift is just par for the course.

Sometimes automakers make minimal changes to the exterior, but add new powertrain components for the FL, or in rare occasions, make running upgrades to the powertrain.

Usually occurs when a next gen model launches with carryover powertrains.

But looking more like referring to the shooting brake - which will be launching in the 2nd half of this year.

Figure an all-new G70 launching in Korea for 2022 and here in 2023.

I think it’ll get another refresh. Everything around it(talking H/K/G vehicle line up) is new but the G70.
