  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,

My question is how do i ensure it is centered and leveled? The template that came with the letters is just a thin piece of plastic with no reference to where it actually goes on the car. Also, I did check Sals FAQ pages and there is not one on the g70 or the specifics I am looking for here. Hope someone can help with some more tips.

Thanks!

You should start by saying what exactly you're doing. Being a '23 (like mine), you already have letters, which many of us removed. I added the '21 rear badge, and put it as high as possible, with the tip of the 'wings' touching the horizontal crease line below the trunk camera. And I centered it by sight, using the center of the camera. I could have left the letters, but they're ugly as heck. Ha ha. Anyway, if you want to relocate the letters, I'd probably use the current letters as a kind of template, install the new ones more or less at the same location (but higher, I'd assume), then remove the stock ones. Good luck.

I already relived the silver letters and I’m trying to now place matte blacks one I received. I want them placed the same way they were before.
As I said, there’s an included template but no directions on where or how to place the template.

Just remove and replace one by one then:p. But first put a piece of masking tape under (or even around) them, to avoid any misalignment. Good luck.

if anyone would actually read the entire posts before replying, I ALREADY REMOVED THE FACTORY LETTERS, so nothing is on the car right now to reference.
Hence why I even posted the original inquiry.

Oh. Well, that was your bad. Ha ha. Good luck then. But if they're a little different than stock nobody would notice, so I wouldn't lose sleep over that.

I put down painters tape below the lettering BEFORE I removed mine, then found the center, marked that. THEN put the emblem at the level of where the letters were.

NOW, since you already removed your letters, this bit of info might help:

When I removed my letters and put the painters tape below the letters, the level seem to match up with the center body color trim on the tail lights. so what you can do is get some painter's tape, get a level or straight edge, lay down a line from one tail light to the other. then measure, find the center and atleast you have the horizontal center marked. now you can use a right angle to then set your vertical placement. I personally think putting the emblem at the same level as where the letters were looks best.

hope that helps.

Thank you! It’s the most helpful reply I have ever gotten on this forum. Thank you for the info and I also agree I want them back where they were , just matte black.

Also just as a fyi for e sry one, I would have replaced the letters at the same time as removing them, but the car needed some paint correction and polishing and it was much easier to do that with no letters in the way.

^^^ What he said.

Blue or green painters tape, a sharpie, a level and a bend-able straightedge. A piece of string pulled tight might work too.

I finally managed to get mine done. I used a laser level for mine and changed up the arrangement. Ill be honest, i sat there staring for a while deciding if that 3.3T badge goes back on the left side of the AWD or below it.
