  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Spotted in NJ and the price of the US G70 is....

Hah, right??

Get it goether, Genesis!!
Actually, if the MSRP holds, I may pick a few of these up as back up cars.;)

You can see on the window sticker that this car was not sold to a dealer- it 's a corporate car and on the lower left further states it's a Marketing Event car.

Hey there - mine is a fully loaded (minus cooled seats as I wanted to keep the quilted Sports seats) Daytona Grey Prestige - what's yours? After finally seeing the G70 in person, it does look quite nice, but I still like the S5 SB better - it has a sleeker/sexier shape to me and I love the utility of the hatchback.

About the same. Navarra Blue Prestige. I have the cooled seats, though they don't cool a whole lot so I could have gone with the sport seats. I hear the G70 has amazing cooled seats. The only option I don't have is the dynamic steering. Love the sports differential.

I also think the S5 SB looks better, but I personally don't have much use for the hackback, so I would be just as fine as getting a sedan. I'm just not a fan of the throttle delay in D mode on the S5. Otherwise, a near perfect car.

Same here. I didn't like dark or black rims before but now I actually might prefer that mine has the 5 spokes now.
I know, i cant understand all the hate for the 5 spokes, i love em, looks bery different in person

At the top it say MSRP = $0.00. I guess they're charging a LOT for the add-ons!

What are the odds of this! Haha. Awesome find, and thank you for sharing it with the forum. No quicker have my hopes shot up and then imediately dashed while looking at the MSRP.
Also, looks like the Genesis USA news brief is accurate, in terms of trim features.

Nice.

I'm stoked as well, I'm pretty set on the 3.3T advanced, now that it's confirmed that all 3.3T awd models have LSD.

My only wish now is that there is a significant price gap between advanced and the sport, and that residual value is relatively high with the base 3.3T model.

I've not noticed any big delay in D, but honestly don't ever really drive in D other than on longer highway drives where it does improve fuel economy. I do 2 things when I start the car: disable start/stop and flick the shift lever to engage S mode. Exhaust note and throttle response are great in S!

You should have went for dynamic steering as when the set to Dynamic in drive select mode, it has a quicker fixed ratio and better weighting than cars without it. The B9 also has a dedicated chip to tie the Dynamic Steering, Sport Differential and Adaptive Suspension together to manage chassis dynamics - good info on it here:

So... what are the chances we can order/buy this exact spec minus the 5-spoke wheels? I would literally buy all three packages, and the wheels are the only thing I'm not sold on...

^ i was lukewarm on the dark 5 spoke rims for a long time, i preferred the machined 10-spoke rim. But, after owning the G70 for a few weeks and washing it a couple times i am becoming a fan.

First, they are the easiest rim to wash of any i’ve owned. And you can also clean the calipers relatively easily.

Second, they do an excellent job of hiding brake dust. The sport pads on my 6MT RWD Sport bite like crazy which is good...but the flip side is they dust like crazy too. Those 10-spoke rims would not conceal the dust and would have been much more of a pain to clean.

Yes, I drive in S mode almost exclusively as well, but the engine does drone in this mode and sometimes you're not looking for a loud car around town. Would have preferred a more usable D mode. It's given me some bad unpredictable lag at times.

Good info on the dynamic steering. Though I like the standard steering a lot.

Do you know for a fact that the G70 features "start/stop"? I assume that means the engine stops at a full stop and automatically restarts when the brake is released or the gas pedal is pushed. Doesn't seem like a feature I would want.

The Prius has always had that feature and when the one I had ('04) was new, it was seamless. Over time that changed to a mild jerk when the engine refired. ANNOYING.

This from several websites about gas burned at idle...On average, a car uses between 1/5 to 1/7 of a gallon of gas per hour when it is idling. There are different types of engines requiring differing amounts of fuel necessary to power the engine.

I don't idle anywhere near an hour during a driving day. Even if I idled a half hour, 1/2.5-1/3.5 of a gallon of gas, at $3 a gallon, it would cost me about 30 cents.

That said, this stop/start feature is coming (probably) for all cars in the future in order to increase gas milage in general. When I happens, I doubt there will be an option to turn it off.

Not in the Sport.

Maybe sometime in the future but it is many years off. More than ten if ever for all cars. Nothing to fret about today unless you choose one on purpose now.

No star stop in cup. They have auto stop hold which holds the brake and allow your foot off the brake paddle

Auto start/stop is incompatible with manual transmission. The feature can save up to 12% of fuel but is annoying as heck. I am glad the sports models don't have it.

So I am confused. Do ANY models of the G70 or Gi80 (2017-2019) have start stop?

Not sure about g80 but no Canadian spec g70 has start/stop.

That's some REALLY bad mpg! My damn 6.2 V8 with 100 hp more gets much better, wow.

The 2.0 has start/stop with the automatic transmission.

Would you please be so kind as to tell me where you saw this. I would like to see what they said. Thanks
