  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sal, maybe time for a new subforum.

As expected, looks to be about G37/Q50 sized.

At first, was a bit disappointed by the greenhouse, but looks better here (tho it has an IS-vibe).

The publications that were stating that the G70 and Kia GT shared a platform were clearly wrong as the GT is definitely larger and is akin to Kia's version of the G80.

Looks interesting, nice size and appears the tire/wheel package is somewhat aggressive with a staggered setup. The engines will be critical for this car, I'm not sure at 2.0T is enough if they keep the fairly heavy construction that the G90 and 80 have. The 3.3T would be strong engine in this car but I would think it would only be in sport or fully loaded models. Will be neat to see the final product and what the heck I'll test drive one before my '15 lease is out just to see if it is an option for me.

I'm glad it appears to be Infiniti G37/Q50 sized. That's the right size for this kind of car. I say the same for the Camaro and Mustang. The 2.0T will probably be fine but it would be a good idea to have the naturally aspirated V6 AND the 3.3 liter twin turbo V6 available as options. 2.0T seems to be selling well for most small cars, however...

I'll get a G70 forum up very soon. In the meantime, if you want to check out http://g70forum.com - please do. :)

I'm sure the 2.0T is just the base engine with the 3.3 V6 or the turbo variant being the top engine for the non-performance models (if the 3.3TT is the top engine, then the performance line should be getting a hotter version of the 3.3TT).

As for the size - makes perfect sense as prospective buyers see an increase in the value quotient with greater passenger space (the lack thereof, being the major flaw in the Cadillac ATS).

But even for the non-performance models, the G70 should be the 1st Genesis sedan to be more oriented towards sport (as opposed to being a luxo-cruiser).

Just noticed the rotors are slotted on the last set of pics, will be a nice touch if that is part of a sport package or something.

Were the later pics taken in Germany or some other Euro country?

The first set look like Mohave Desert, S. CA, and the later set look like Germany (German on a road sign).

also notice the dual exhaust on the USA photos and different wheels/tire width.

Euro shots have single exhaust with a dual tip and different wheels and skinnier tires.

Yeah, that's pretty weird. I much prefer the squarish, quad exhaust - but that should be left for the highest performance model. Otherwise, my next choice would be one pipe on each side so that the rear is symmetrical.

I definitely agree. I am not a big fan of single sided exhaust, especially when visible.

I just tripped over a site z-news.xyz that has pics of the G70. The site date was 9-8-16. It's written in "almost english"!

I just took a quick look. The pictures are small but I believe they're renderings...

Thanks, Yeh! I like it! I can't wait to see more - and the actual car itself...

That rendering is indeed slick.

I wish they'd get out of the habit of leaving the door handles OFF the car for these renderings. Door handles can make the sides look nice when done properly.

anyone know the ETA? Keep reading 2017

The rendering looks almost Toyota GT86ish
