  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been in touch with Genesis customer service about the "Driver Attention Warning"—or the "Time to Take a Break" alert—which many find especially frustrating on the G70 models. Based on my discussions with customer care and dealership technicians, it seems that as of the 2024-2025 model years, Genesis has removed the option to disable this feature.

Many G70 owners report similar issues. For example, on my G70, the alert appears every 15 minutes, on average. However, if I enable lane assist, the chime doesn't activate for the duration of the drive. This feature is intended to alert drivers if they may be getting drowsy, encouraging them to take a break.

With the newer 2024-2025 models, Genesis decided to make this feature permanent, without an option to turn it off. However, unlike other models, the G70 doesn’t have a driver-facing camera in the cluster or dash to detect driver fatigue directly. Instead, it relies solely on input from the front windshield and bumper cameras, which together only partially assess driver attention. This limited setup is likely why the alert appears so frequently—about every 15 minutes—on the G70.

In contrast, other Genesis models, like the G80 and the SUV line, are equipped with two driver-facing cameras, either in the cluster or dash. With these additional cameras, the "Time to Take a Break" warning is much less frequent. For instance, I drove a friend’s G80 for two days time to take a break alert did not come up not once.
In summary genises did not think this thru in the g70 platform since they did not update the cluster like what they did to other models. Here are some solutions I think that genises should do for the g70 platform
A.) Give us back the option to disable time to take a break feature
I still have an active case with genises I am still waiting on a response from one of the software engineers what i would like is that every g70 owner to Speak up on this issue please DM me your name and what model you have so I can include you in the case and together we can get a solution

Mine is a 2024 and has never come on. I hate lane assist and it is always off.

Wow, I’m not sure how, but good for you! I was at a Stinger and Genesis meetup, and every G70 owner I spoke with mentioned having the same issue.

Yup, you can add me to this list. Horrible choice on their part.

It’s frustrating that Genesis removed the option to disable the "Time to Take a Break" alert in the 2024-2025 G70 models. Hopefully, your efforts will bring attention to this issue and lead to a solution.

The only time I turn it on is on very long drives (like vacation road trip long), where I do appreciate the help.

As for the driver attention warning... while it is a bit of a nuisance, the alert tone isn't all that loud/sharp, so I don't mind it that much. OTOH, the front collision avoidance warning noise is jarringly loud/obnoxious (I guess by design), which bothers me way more.

Did you get any update on your case

In an earlier post I said mine has never come on. I have now had it come on twice, once when I had been driving for about ten minutes!!!

Where do we email? My name is Amanda and I just bought the 2026 G70. This feature is annoying and needs immediate attention to be fixed. Had I known this was an issue I possibly would have made a different choice with how much of an issue it is.

I have the same issue and it’s driving me crazy. I will never purchase another genesis again if this doesn’t get fixed
Be careful what you buy instead. Genesis did not make the system. It is a third party supplier and used in other brands and getting complaints also.

I have a 25 G70. It comes on occasionally. I might even characterize it as rarely. I consider myself fortunate as when it does come on it’s annoying and unnecessary.
