  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I put a set of 4 G70 (front) wheels on my 2014 R Spec. They fit perfectly and I think gives it a fresh look.

Welcome! Yes, that does look very good... How long have you had your Genesis and what did it replace for you?

I had a Black on Black 2010 4.6 for 7 years and put 156000 miles on her. My favorite car. Then I had a company car from 2017 until just recently. Now I wanted to buy another Genesis because I enjoyed that car so much so I recently found this 2014 R Spec with 26000 original miles and I jumped on it. Owned by a 75 year old woman in Southern USA. Probably never saw a snow flake or salt truck. Looks and runs almost like new.

Well nice upgrade! And wow, it sounds like you found one in practically new condition! Not so easy anymore... What's your favorite thing about the 2014 R-Spec compared to the 2010?

Well, it's hard to say since they both are very similar cars, and I just started driving the R Spec. I think at this point it's a mixed bag. I like the heated steering wheel and the heated rear seats of the R Spec. Also, the R Spec does seem to have more power and sportier handling. I think the 2010 4.6 had a softer more comfortable ride and I liked the style of the older steering wheel better. It had the hard wood/plastic at the top of the wheel. I also think the 4.6 got much better fuel milage. I averaged mid 20s and now I am getting high teens in the R Spec. I also think I liked the ZF 6 speed transmission a little better. The 8 speed seems to want to down shift a lot. Every time I ease on to the throttle it will downshift unnecessarily. I also down shifts noticeably when you come to a stop. I am not 100% sure it is working properly. It might loosen up once I put more miles on it. All in all I do love this first-generation sedan. To my eye it is one of the most handsome cars on the road and I am looking forward to many years in my R Spec.
