  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G80 3.3t Exhaust

I was looking through a Ebay store and came across this.
There is a link in the description with a sound clip.
It sounds pretty mean!
your car will not sound the same, because this a3.3 without turbos!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Ggace, will you please share the Borla exhaust part # with me. I have a 2019 Genesis G80 sport, 3.3T, RWD. I searched Borla and did not find a part for my car. Thanks
Did you ever find it? I'm between a catback vs just mufflers atm.

Unfortunately I moved on from that car a few years ago. It was Borla S-type that I had on it. I do not have the part number but it required fabrication but nothing bad. It was not a kit (there wasn't one in 2018 at least). It was catback with a resonator delete. It didn't sound as good as the stinger axel back borla I had but it wasn't too far off.

Ah I see. I notice you're on to newer things haha. But do you think it'd sound good to just have the borla pro xs mufflers with nothing else done? And if you don't mind sharing with me if the inlet and outlets were 2.25 and was it single or dual outlets?

Depends on the tone you want. You can always do muffler first & if you want a bit more, remove the resonators. I had dual outlets & the diameter matched the stock pipes which if memory serves was 2.25.

I originally had magnoflow but those sounded too "tin" like. Borla gave me the burble I wanted but in the end, there was not much support for the g80 which is why I moved to the stinger. WAYYYYYYY more support for that platform & then the G70 took off (practically the same support).

A not too loud itll drive me crazy with drone but with a lower rumble is what I'm going for. I heard borla was a good choice. But yea even with cai's there's nothing for the g80. Its ridiculous. The muffler shop said that I could just get a single outlet even though the tips are quad, is there a difference in sound/performance if I choose to go with a set of borla xs with just 1 outlet each?

Are you tracking it & chasing 11's on the quarter mile? If not, the single exhaust will be fine. Ultimately the dual (or quad in this case) is to allow you to push out more exhaust. If you are just doing it mainly for the sound & not necessarily the performance it will be fine.
If you are doing it for the performance, it's time to move to the G70 haha.

I have this active valved exhaust on my G80 and I also have secondary DPs it sounds pretty good to me, I just need to get actual exhaust tips to minimize the drone when I have it oven and cruising at 80mph.

Ahh I see Thanks for the reply. I'm mainly doing it for sound first, maybe later on after I get the burger tune I'll worry about that lol.

Couldn't you somehow use the integrated tips on the oem exhaust?

I have been using them for a year and a half now, but since they're not really connected to the exhaust sound will hit the back of the bumper and comes into the cabin.

Exhaust tips decrease drone? My borla muffs are a lil loud. What size tips are you gonna get?

I bought oval tips from AliExpress and they didn't fit, so I opted to use exhaust heat wrap to fill the void around the actual exhaust pipe and the fake tips and it works pretty well like this
