  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had this corrected? I thought I read that official letters went out 9/15/2025.

Was curious if anyone knows if the dealerships have the software updates yet?

The Hyundai dealership I bought my G90 from would not let me pick up the car until this recall was fixed. They sent it to Genesis twice and they were unable to update the system. I told them I didn’t care about the recall so I could get the car. They were nearly impossible to get them to budge on the recall waiver.

Has anyone received an OTA yet? Are the OTA updates on hold until the update window for infotainment software downloads is reopened? The updates are closed on the downloader until 4th quarter says the message. Thought maybe the OTA recall fix might be tied to this event.

EDIT: Sorry - I missed the Hyundai part - presuming they sent it to a Genesis dealer. Surprised a Hyundai dealer even took it in - they aren't supposed to.

The dealer cannot release the car by law until the recall is completed, as it is a safety recall issued by NHTSA. There is no ability to waiver this. Doing so puts the dealer 100% on the hook for liability. If they released the car to you - you need to bring it back immediately.

Yes they sent to standalone Genesis. They actually previously were combined Genesis/Hyundai, but lost it due to Genesis’ decisions on wanting their standalone nearer to more cosmopolitan areas.

The recall law you mention is only for new cars. Ask me how I know :) This was lightly used, and depending on the state, used cars can be sold with open recalls as long as it is properly disclosed to the buyer. Both states involved in this purchase allowed used car sales with open recalls, and I was nearly screaming for the opportunity to sign the disclosure!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I saw a thread on Reddit that was about 60 days old with a Genesis dealer participating. That dealership updated me this morning on that thread, and said there is still not a solution for the recall that has been distributed to the Genesis network.

If anyone has gotten their recall corrected please update this thread.

I will probably wait until October or whenever the new software update is available on the Mac Genesis Infotainment/Maps updater before calling the dealership. I assume it will be baked into that download.
