  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just purchased a 2025 G90, can anyone recommend a dealership that sells the 10y 100k extended warranty near dealer cost

Congrats on the new car, what colors is it?

Do you know what dealer cost is? I would love to know.

Did you buy it used I presume if you are asking this question or are you referring to a bumper to bumper extension and not the POWERTRAIN and engine? How could you not get the 10 year 100K warranty included if it was brand new? And why didn’t you get a brand new G90 if it was 2025 year model. Are they all gone? This must have been a low mileage car I hope.

Genesis doesn't have a 10/100 extended warranty. It is only 6/75 and applies to CPOs. There is 10/100 powertrain for original owner and CPO as well.

Otherwise used units are 5/60 and you will need to purchase a 3rd party for anything beyond that. I recommend Endurance, Zurich, and Fidelity. They are all a bit on the pricey side - even if you buy them direct. But they are the ones that give the least pushback when you try to make a claim (although lately Endurance has been reported as faltering there).

Route66 is the only more "budget" friendly one that offers the least amount of pushback.

Do not consider any other branded 3rd party warranty - you will be denied out of the gate on any claim, and it will be an uphill fight to get repairs approved. Remember the insurance companies exist to make money - not to take care of your car (or eyes, teeth, health, house, life, etc).

Do not purchase the 3rd party warranty through a dealer. They will mark it up sky-high. Sometimes 300-500% over what you could buy it directly for. This is pure profit for the dealer, and is one of their biggest generators. This is also why most dealers only sell 3rd party warranties and do not even offer extended factory at all (other than when it comes with CPO).

Get quotes directly from the 3rd parties mentioned above, or at worst contact your credit union and see who they used. Yes - I said credit union... that's what you should be using, not a commercial bank (who also only exist to make themselves money).

Good luck.

My dealer, the finance guy, was pushing this big time just on Saturday. Not sure of the 3rd party company, but it was to extend it to 8 years “bumper to bumper”….it started at $2600, after 10 NOs, it was down to zero. Then he was taking money off my monthly payment. I just kept saying no, because he was being obnoxious at some point and it was the principle of the matter. I trust the car and the company and I am not paying extra.

I might have passed up a good deal, but when someone says no for 5 times in a row, it means no. No means no! :)

If you bought new a Genesis extended warranty, called the Genesis Platinum Protection Plan or Genesis Vehicle Protection Plan, is a vehicle service contract (VSC) that provides coverage for mechanical breakdowns and extends the original factory warranty for up to 10 years or 120,000 to 150,000 miles from the in-service date

This is offered by Genesis Finance.

Down to zero??? If they were doing that - then they have added on other costs elsewhere and buried it somewhere within the deal. Look for jacked up doc fees, prep fees, service/maintenance contracts, protection plans (ceramic coating, stain guard), etc. 3rd party extended and maint programs are their biggest moneymakers. They are getting their money out of you somewhere in that deal if they were willing to go that far.

Interesting.... I stand corrected, then. Was this recently re-introduced? I know the HPP was available when it was still under the H marque, and was included in CPOs. But my understanding in all the dealings I was doing for the Genesis branded one a few years later, and through discussions on this board was that it was not offered for Genny.

Granted that was some time ago. If I am incorrect entirely on that memory, then I do sincerely apologize.

Yeah the fees were there.

I wasn’t bold or in a position to want to walk away. I wanted that car badly! And they have to eat too. It was the best deal in the United States on that Saturday. I did my homework and knew the inventory from across the land. Sure someone else could have been obnoxious and gotten better trade-in deal or another $1,000 knocked off, but I was happy and didn’t want the deal to fall through.

The other thing is, I was concerned about order of operations. If I say yes then this new charge is in there, and then the finance rate has an extra .25 etc. they of course like to guard the interest rate until the last moment, like it fluctuates like a blue chip stock. You are over a barrel when they use their big iPad. Someone could easily design software to add some charges and if then statements to make up ground. In the end I was happy enough with the deal. Interest rate just under seven, I think I will just pay it off with a 401K loan, and pay my 401K a guaranteed 9% interest on the loan over 2 years instead of paying a bank 7% over 5 years.
