  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G90 Owners - What did the Genesis replace for you?

On the auto-opening trunk. It's annoying like hell, I managed to learn the evasive jump-off maneuver lol. Now, the partial solution, if you have a keyfob in reach - to press the trunk button while the thing is beeping, it'll interrupt the opening routine. I know it kinda defeats the purpose of not having the key handy to start with - it's always in my bag, but still better this than trying to get outta the way quickly.
I shut that feature off long ago.

My 2019 G90 Premium 3T replaced my 2015 Jaguar XJL AWD, and while I loved the Jag, the G90 surpasses it in every measurable way, and as well as the ones harder to quantify.

2021 G80 2.5 AWD prestige. Totaled. Young WRX rear ended me at 70 mph. Into the guard rail. See pics below. Two black eyes. Walked away.

Bought manager demo 2021 g90 Premium. Dark navy blue
It’s amazing. But I miss the lightness of the g80 with 2.5Turbo.

I went from a 20 G80 Sport to a 21 G90 Premium. You are gonna love it!

Congrats. How much you paid and what was the odometer reading?

9K miles @ $58K. With 3 years maintenance transferred. Not CPO so I bought a 125K bumper to bumper excludes wear and tear.
At first, I was not crazy about dark blue but I like it just fine now.

I was offered 66k for 21 V8 but told the dealer i pass. They said they will CPO the car for me and asked me how much i am willing to pay, but i passed
Don't know many miles but noticed couple of chips on the rear bumper when i was walking by the car so that with their inflated sell price made me pass.

I think they registered it and used it to drive genesis service valet type stuff.

With or without maintenance, ae Trixie said, I love it! For the last month I’ve been head down on my totaled G80. Today, I drove my G90 400 miles out to berkshires and back home. This is a whole different car. Full size is the way! It can make a long drive enjoyable with luxurious comfort. A big part of me wants to put in the cold air intake and magna flow the exhaust on both sides, but I can see how my extended warranty would just be defunct if I had to put in a claim and they would just point to any modification on the car and say game over.
I have owned mostly BMWs and Caddy’s, I am a limo/SUV operator. I understand full-size vehicles, and I see how the engineers designed the weight, and if you can control the weight, you can make this vehicle do whatever you want.
Lol, welcome to the boat community

Well, Kia k900, which was a detour from my line of Gennies since in 2020 Genesis G90 upgrade was underwhelming to what was already a great car - 2017 G90. But totally happy to be back.

Absolutely! I opted for a simple muffler bypass valve and I love it with the 5L V8 engine (and with my previous 3.8L V6 Genesis). If you change the entire exhaust you could technically swap it back anytime...

With cars like the Lincoln Continental/Town Car and Cadillac Fleetwood, DeVille, DTS, CT6 gone from America, the G90 is an impressive way to get that experience (only better). What vehicle did you have before the G90?
2017 Lexus 460 -- which I loved but got flooded out by the Ian water surge in Naples. So now have a 2020 G90U for two weeks and am very happy with it so far --still learning its secrets.
Generally, I employ a buy-and-keep strategy -- I expect to keep this for several years.
I am a bit concerned with the battery since I spend four months a year in Spain. My Lexus did not care, but evidently, I may have issues with the G90.

Yes re battery tender. I go to Spain for 8 to 10 months twice a year and what I read about batteries on this forum makes me a tad nervous. The car is kept in Naples so cold weather is not a factor, but lack of driving is. I am looking at various battery tenders and how to use one without having to keep my hood or trunk open for the connection to an outside power connection.
Sorry to read about your 17 LS460. I drove 5 Lexus before this G90 and don't regret a thing short of service. I suspect once you start finding all the cool tech, you'll enjoy the car. But yes, get the tender and then you should be good to go.

I am sure G90 drive from Naples to Spain is very scenic and awesome :)

Boring and flat from Naples to Miami, boring and wet after that.

Correction: I go to Spain 8 to 10 WEEKS twice a year. Therefore my nervousness about the battery.
Thanks for the clarification. I was ready to toss my 12 month calendars.

Battery tender. Better than a trickle charger. No modern car can go that long without battery charge problems

Greetings. New to Genesis forum. I am trading a 2019 Kia Stinger for a 2018 G90. I have been a Jag guy for 20 years with my fave a 2006 Jaguar XJR. Traded a 2015 Jag XF for the Stinger but decided to go for the gusto with the G90. Excited to own this G90 and enjoy its smoothness and elegance.

I list my 2004 XJ8 as my all-time best car. I still own a 2007 XK convertible that's going to a new home. It's been replaced by a Corvette C7. I am seriously hoping that my G90 Ultimate will replace the '04 Jag as my all-time best.
