  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G90 Owners - What did the Genesis replace for you?

My 2019 G90 Ultimate replaced a 2019 G80. It was a little too small and torquey. I only had the G80 for 3 months, and that replaced a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T which I loved.

1994 STS. Still driving 190K

After twenty-eight years of owning the latest Lexus LS sedan, this year I went to trade in my LS460 for the latest LS500. One problem, I no longer fit in the new design. I’m 6’6” and the headliner with all of its mechanical contents is too thick for my head to come along for the ride. I purchased a 2018 G90 ultimate yesterday to audition it as a replacement vehicle for my next twenty-eight years. So far so good. Great technology and much, much more headroom. Tried on a 2023 G90 also and fit great in there also. Will hold this one for two years and if I still love it will move to the 2023 G90 when they start coming back in from lease.

Congratulations! It would be interesting to see your review/comparison between the two cars - if you ever have the time or desire.

Congrats. I too came from an LS460. Had this car a little over 2 years. A few repairs under warranty and now this car is great. Everything a Lexus should be. The 2018 Ultimate is a great car. All it's really lacking is car play which began in 2020. Enjoy.

Just picked up: 2017 Genesis G90 V8 AWD Ultimate (just 19k miles!)
Replaced in order: 2019 Kia Stinger GT2, 2012 Hyundai Genesis 4.6, 2014 Chrysler 300C, 2011 Chrysler 300C AWD, 2011 Hyundai Equus Ultimate

I replaced my BMW 750i with Genesis G90 Ultimate. That was 5 years ago. So far Genesis is working issue free and I am pleased with my decision.

Good to hear. Usually nothing but complaints here.

Sold my Lexus LS460 and picked up a 2021 Premium G90 - So far i am very impressed with this vehicle. I was worried that I would miss the air suspension but thus far it is very comparable.

Bought my 21 as a demo, VPs car, almost 2 years ago. Total luxury with no issues so far. Dealerships in Chicago area have been great.

Congrats. Did the same thing. It's a great car and soon enough you'll have standalone shops to do your service.

I would not hold my breath on standalone shops
In fact a couple of Hyundai dealers in my area that sold Genesis have discontinued their franchise

Even the Hyundai dealers who have a Genesis " alcove " have really got to upgrade their dealership experience
Its still very " hyundai" and in my personal experience that is being generous.

I have had two horrific buying experiences in a row.

Hi All - Newbie here. Just picked up a 2017 G90 3.3T Premium on Tuesday. It's replacing two Mazda3s for me - a 2008 3S hatch and a 2012 3i sedan - both manual transmission models.

I've put a couple hundred miles on the Gennie, and I can already tell it's going to spoil me - and I'm kind of really okay with that, lol! I broke my left foot - my clutch foot, of course - last October, and it never has healed properly; it is in fact still broken. Add to that the fact that my left knee has been acting up from an old motorcycle wreck, and it was time to pull the trigger on something with an automatic transmission.

Now, for the most part I have nothing against autoboxes - I've just always believed that they belong in luxury cars and full-sized trucks - and I didn't want a truck. :)

So when I realized how undervalued the G90 was, it began what became a yearlong search for just the right car - which I think I have in my Santiago Silver & Black G90.

I am in love with this car, and I thank all of you for your posts and your insights; this place was a big assist in helping me make my decision to move forward with the G90.

2011 Hyundai Equus ( which I still own ) to a 2018 Genesis G90 Ultimate AWD
