  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone else sat behind the new G90? That steering wheel is AMAZING. The leather used is top notch and the 10 and 2 grips are more pronounced! Wonder if it is compatible with the Genesis/G80?

The wheel on my 2015 Genesis sedan doesn't feel that great, too thin for my taste. So, having the option to swap it out for a better one would be nice.

Most modern cars have a ton of wiring that goes into the airbag, the paddle shifters and the steeling wheel controls, so I highly doubt these two can be interchanged easily. The functionality on the G90 wheel looks very similar to the G80 wheel, but the wiring harness and electronics might be completely different - the airbag adds a level of risk that would be unacceptable to me personally. If that thing goes off wrong, or not at all due to different connectors/wiring, you could potentially be in a heap of trouble ...

I looked at swapping steering wheels with several Hyundai and Kia models but compatibility always seemed the problem. For example, the heated steering wheel switch is different on the G80 vs almost all the SW's I looked at for comparison. I eventually had my SW customized with thumb grips, perforated leather, and thickened. The unexpected complication was every US company couldn't match the color of the leather. I ended up sending it to Poland.

I wish we had the schematics to compare both wheels.

This thread gives me the willies.
