Fuel injectors have been designed to operate much more precisely than in the past. So they must remain clean and not be fouled with deposits (or hopefully crud in the gas).

On its own, the EPA doesn't understand anything except listening to politicians or special interest groups (like corn farmers).

Costco + Top Tier = quality cheap gas.

Seriously, Costco is often 10 cents per gallon or more cheaper around my area than other gas stations.

When you factor that into the savings that you get from Costco's Auto insurance program and even their car buying program it more than pays for the annual membership costs!

Can you explain more about the Costco Auto insurance program and their car buying program? I am not a Costco member and would like to know more about these programs if you don't mind Motegi

I suggest that you read every post in this thread carefully, and go the top tier website and read about it. Top Tier Gas program was started and advanced by the auto manufacturers, not the oil companies. Some oil companies resisted it strongly, including BP (until very recently).

Top tier gas was not started by The automakers it was started and is owned by GM. Who in my opinion is in cahoots with big oil as well as other automakers.

Top tier gas was not started by The automakers it was started and is owned by GM.

Not all the automakers are sponsors of TopTierGas, only BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. It only applies to North America gas (US, Canada, Puerto Rico), so I guess that GM owns the website and does much of the admin work for the organization.

Costco provides members with discount auto insurance through Ameriprise.

Costco also has a program with dealers for most brands across the country for prenegotiated discount pricing for new cars. There is no extra cost for members to use the program and no obligation to buy based on the prenegotiated price. I believe that they have also expanded this program to include boats, ATVs, RVs, and used cars as well. Furthermore Costco members receive a 15% discount on parts at these dealers as well. Check out costcoauto.com

So if you're going to join a warehouse club in your area I'd recommend Costco.

Jewelry... Don't let my wife no that We are members of Sam's Club. Our closest Costco's of a 50 minute drive south of here. I just checked their website and there are no plans (yet) to build one up in our area. I did read in the newspaper a few weeks ago that they are looking into our area for one so hopefully that will happen soon.

I am not knocking Costco. I am a member and went there on Friday. They also have good prices on tires, with the best tire service I have seen anywhere (free 7500 mile rotations, free road hazard insurance, free nitrogen).

chevron, shell, etcetera stations all get their fuel from the same regional tank farm, the additive packages are added when the trucks are loaded for delivery.

Yes, it is the additive packages that make a difference between one gas and another (and whether a gas is TopTier).
