  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A few weeks ago when attempting to back up into my driveway my gearshift wouldn’t go into reverse. I stuck my key onto the override and backed in. Had to do it again to pull into my garage.
Next day it worked fine but it became an intermittent issue for a few days. Some days worked, some days not.
last Friday I had to accelerate hard to pass a truck on a country road and after passing tried to reset my cruise control. It would not engage.
Came back home with both of these issues and while researching I decided to try a battery reset. After that, both the shifter and the cruise control worked fine. .......until today....
At the supermarket was waiting for a car to pull out of a space and when I pulled in I couldn’t shift to park. Bypassed manually again and am now home with the battery disconnected again.
Anyone else had these issues? Any fixes recommended?
Thanks!

My first thought. However, the brake lights were functional and in the early stages the cruise control was operational. Anyone else have any ideals?

Unless your looking for a more expensive solution, I would first try replacing the known issue, the brake switch. The switch is multi-functional so it's possible for part of it's function to fail or be intermittent and other functions to continue to work. Cheap and easy fix if it works.
