  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I searched and could not find a thread with good info. Please link below if I missed it.

We are looking for a 3rd car as our SUV is getting up there in mileage but we need to keep for practical reasons.

Through my comparisons and all things considered, it appears I can get a sub-50k mileage Gen 1 (2013) for about 5-10k less than a comparable sub-50k Gen 2.

Our cap is 20k which is where many of the 2015 models are currently. The 2013's are in the 12-15 range.

For those of you whom have owned both, any strong opinions in support of either option?

Thanks in advance...

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If you can, drive them both so you can see how different/better the 2nd generation Genesis are, especially in suspension/handling are. Not to mention the interior which is night and day compared to 1st Genesis.

I had a '13 Rspec 5.0 then '15 5.0 and now '18 G80 sport 3.3tt ....that should tell you something, it gets better and better, lol
If I was about to get another car for me now, sure as hell it would be another G80 sport.

Thanks for the feedback. I should have mentioned that we do not buy new cars and pay cash for all of our cars which drives the decision-making process.

I know we talked breifly about it in another thread. How big a difference is the sport suspension? I have a 2015 5.0 and am thinking of changing out the springs and sway bars (to the new 3.3tt sport suspension). Do you think this would be a big enough difrence to be worthwhile? any real downsides? How would you compare the ride between the 2 cars? sorry for all the questions. My other car is GT350, I went to all spherical bearings and GT350R springs and it was a nice little upgrade.
