In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. hello

i wanted to ask about the G2 genesis do it have a LSD ? or Locking differential ?

some time i feel it have when i stop the stability control and traction system and i hear a kind of sound that appears like there is something engaging in the back

so is it true that it have it ?

I have mentioned before that you should always specify which country your car was purchased in. My understanding is that some countries may have LSD (Limited Slip Differential) on their Genesis, although I believe that the USA version of the V6 does not have it.

I believe Electronic Stability Control (ESC) takes the place of limited slip differential by applying the brakes to the wheel that slips. Limited slip just transfers power to the wheel that's not slipping. If you had limited slip you would never be able to hear it working as it works on clutches within the axle housing.

i heared that hyundai use the Torsen system in their differential and that cause a hard locking feel

You are correct about Hyundai using Torsen Diffs, as they are used in the Coupes. Not sure if they're used in the Sedan or not though.

That AWD video is interesting. I have the HTrac system so its good to know how it works. Still doesn't say whether or not its actual mechanical LSDs or if its electronically controlled brake and power when all but one wheel slips. I've been curious about this since I bought the car, hahaha.

i bought the manual guide of the Genesis and the Differential is the same between RWD and AWD but its different between V6 and V8

but i guess both of them have a LSD i have tested yesterday i stopped the the ESC and TSC and it was working both tires were locked up

but maybe its the TSC because i heard it cant be fully disengaged

Shouldn't the AWD have more diffs though? It would need a center diff to control front to rear torque application and then a diff on each axle, no?

it has a torque distributer its a clutch between Front axle and rear axle

in the back im not sure if its LSD differential of open one ?

ol' one wheel peel. Hahaha. But what about the DH (2nd Gen) V6? It has different underpinnings doesn't it? The clutch in between is interesting. Probably have to be replaced after 80k or 100k. I'm sure that'll be a job....

Still curious is the AWD has locking or open diffs. Can't find info on it anywhere. :/

Did anyone ever find this out? I still can't find a clear answer of what the differential set up is.

I just checked the service manual for the 2015 5.0 and the rear differential is a open differential without a mechanical LSD. The rear differential only has a housing with spider gears and pinon ring gears in the case. No clutches or any other locking mechanisms.

So we only have the electronic LSD type of system that uses the brakes to control wheel slippage.
