  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

*****Genesis 2nd Generation Oil Pressure Sensor Issue ***** Already Recalled in Korea Since Nov, 2021

Hi Gen Owners.
My gen started showing oil pressure light coming up a week after I got my oil change performed at the dealer & Dealer was saying it's common issue with my model & it's under 5yrs 60k warranty. It seems it's meant to broke after 60k for most of Gen Users. Mine is at 70k at this time.
I found some video on YouTube explaining how to replace & found some comment it was Recall in Korean Gen Owners. .

It was recall in Korea Since Nov.2021 & our Genesis is made in Korea, which is affected with this issue.

Why Hyundai is not recalling this issue? View attachment 49061View attachment 49062it said anyone who replaced out of the dealer they can claim reimburse for the damage.
I just had this repair done this week at the genesis dealership and they made no mention of any of this..

I just had to take my 2018 genesis g80 3.3T in due to oil pressure warning light intermittently coming on last week out of nowhere. Had the car from 24k miles and currently at 73k-ish miles and majority are highway, full synthetic oil changes every 6k miles, UTD on recommended maintenance and all recalls blah blah BLUF I'm a saint😇 Diagnostic identified shorted oil pressure switch, when they cracked open the engine all seals for fuel injectors were worn out so addtl +$100 and decided to replace the spark plugs as the labor was mutual for both jobs, Out the door $1531. That was Tuesday, turned on car this morning and was greeted by oil pressure warning light🤣🤣. I'm inspecting for gremlins or shenanigan enthused unicorns currently.
They have to pull the injectors to get to the oil pressure sensor. The seals are unlikely to survive removal and re-installation, so that charge was reasonable and expected.
It's very annoying that you are still getting low oil pressure warnings. Surely they will fix this a no additional charge...

Just dropped it off with the dealer 20 minutes ago and they are shuttling me back home because of course they don't have any courtesy loaner vehicles available which I can understand given I called at 0730 and they MacGyver'ed their schedule to get me in immediately. Probably had something to do with me mentioning that there was evidence of a new oil leak in the engine bay (minor by the looks of it)
