  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis 5.0 vs. M56S: Initial Impressions

I much prefer the lines of the priot gen Infinity M. The new one just looks a bit goofy to me.

I was a huge fan of the previous body M, but see the current body as a successor to it. Not unlike the current body Optima vs. the previous body.

Here has been my progression of vehicles over the last few years:

2006 M45:

2012 Genesis 5.0:

2012 M56S:

Man I know I've said it before, but I love those M56 wheels.

+2

I’ve had a G since 2007 love to drive the car and it’s always given me good service but I’ve always been in love with the Ms and looking at yours confirms that feeling. Is it an”X” ?
Thanks for posting and good luck.

The 2006 with the 4.5L is still a sweet looking car, imo. Maybe add some chrome trim in a few places and some updated wheels and you're good to go for another half decade.

Pretty much lusted after a M45S before I came to my senses, left the ticket magnet at home for the weekends, and bought the '08 Avalon as a work/commuter a few years back. I still think these are damn fine looking/driving cars and (no offence) like the look over the M56. Nice color choice on the new one.

The G is a really fun car; reminds me of the old 240Zs in the way that it was built to respond driver input and give immediate feedback. No, it is not an "X". Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

You know, it is funny you say that. While I had the M45, I looked for a year for a 2008 and up M45 replacement. The 2006 was getting up there in miles, and in 2008 they did a light exterior re-style and upgraded the electronics.

I simply could not find one with the options, mileage and condition I was looking for, at a price I was willing to pay. If I was able to at the time, I would still be driving it. That is where the Genesis came in. ;); a new car for over $10k off of MSRP. Really couldn't afford not to buy it... ;)

I agree; the M45 is still relevant, and looks good after all these years. It is also as zielritter stated above; do a little update and you are good to go for another half decade.
