  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hopefully this is not against forum rules. I am a salesman at Atlantic Hyundai of West Islip, NY. Our dealership is the #1 Hyundai dealer in the USA and has the largest inventory in the country as well! I will sell any Genesis Sedan or Genesis Coupe at $500 under invoice to anyone on this forum.

We are located at

193 Sunrise Highway
West Islip, NY 11795

631-587-0700 X358

Ask for Jon Pelc or email me Jonpelc@aol.com

Wow! Too bad I didn't know about this earlier. I bought a '10 3.8 sedan just the other day at invoice - I thought that was a good deal. But $500 below - that's a great deal. The sales price for the Genesis appears to be dropping, now why would anyone pay above invoice?

Curious what invoice is. I bought mine in March 09 for $31 something, out the door. Listed for $36 something

The sales price actually increased from 2009 to 2010. The only reason we can go below invoice is due to the amount of volume at our dealership. We do between 400-600 Hyundai's a month here.

So what is invoice for a 2010 V8 sedan w/tech and w/o the tech package? Is edmunds correct giving it a $36590 before destination chargers?

MSRP is $43800
Invoice is $40825 W/ TECH Package

HAPP pricing on V8=Your Estimated Invoice Price : $38,485.00*
HAPP pricing on V6=Your Estimated Invoice Price : $36,550.00*

Decent price. Too bad it's not available to the general public!

MSRP on my 2009 4.6 w/tech was $42,030.00
Invoice was $29,000.00
I paid $36,600.00 before tax/tag/title

I just couldn't rationalize the 2010 being worth an extra $4k to $6k....

I plan on upgrading the suspension at some point in the near future...Just waiting to see if Eibach or H&R comes out with a lowering spring or I'll go with the ARK coil-over kit....So, having the 2010 suspension wasn't an issue in my mind...

I think the thing I would have liked most is the auto-brake.

Feel like I got a great deal, since I paid $5,400.00 below MSRP and $2,500.00 below invoice.

My other car is a Mercedes and it qualified me for the $1500.00 competitive bonus Hyundai is or was offering.

Love my car btw!

Scott

Invoice is $39000 not $29000

If anyone wants to give me a dollar, I'll sell you 2 quarters. I love when sales people try to make a fast buck and get called on it.

Jon, I used your zip code, 11795, on Overstock's website and in your area, the going price is $700 below invoice. Wow, you're such a good guy. Forum members get to save $500 below invoice because we're in the know but the rest of the country can get $700 in your area without our secret decoder ring knowlege?

I guess it's better to not buy from the #1 dealer in the country to get a good price. Use Overstock's website and use a zip code in SoCal. No questions asked for anyone who comes into the dealership for $1800 below invoice.

Please don't misinterpret my rant. The price Jon is giving is decent if one doesn't want to haggle but let's be upfront and all agree he's trying to make a buck for himself. Lower prices to easily be had, would you agree Jon?

I totally disagree with you. I do not know where overstock is getting their numbers from. I only get a flat from the dealer and no matter what I sell the car for, I get the same amount. There is very minimal holdback on the Genesis Sedan. Did you find out if the $700 under invoice or $1800 under invoice (as you claim) was financed at a higher rate so the dealership makes up the money on the back end? I can easily sell you a genesis $1800 under invoice if you wish to pay 10-14% interest. But I assume most customers would not like to be taken advantage of. My offer stands at $500 under invoice. I thank you for sharing.

First of all, the Overstock is real. I bought a 2010 Honda Ridgeline using their system for the exact number they stated (in fact, they guarantee it). Also their doc fee of $299 is less than the typical dealer "doc" fee BS.

HOWEVER, the invoice price used for the 2010 4.6 is wrong (unless Hyundai has recently raised their invoice without raising the MSRP) by about $400. It is correct for other cars. No other site has that invoice price. Everybody is showing $39,775 as the "invoice" for a 2010 4.6 with tech pkg and shipping. So you need to subtract $400 from that $700 under invoice leaving $300 under invoice (without holdback) as the price. This price is available at many places and most are getting the car in the $39.5K area. I don't know where this dealer is getting his invoice price from. Also there is a 3% holdback which is evidenced by the happ price of $38,485 plus freight and ad fee.

I think this fellow is likely being honest but is just not informed by his dealership (typical) and does not do the typical internet buyer research (also typical). The other issue is commission. The prices I had mentioned are going straight through the sales manager, so little or no commission. The dealer cannot afford to pay the usual commission at these prices. There are also some additional "secret" incentives in various parts of the country (according to Hyundai in a direct conversation).

I too bought a car with the Overstock price last summer. Very easy deal and I think it was fair for both me and the dealer. I'm surprised you insinuate someone else can sell a car less than you. I've been told by friends and colleagues who live in other parts of the country that SoCal has the lowest prices because the most cars get sold here. I don't know if it's true but it seems what I pay is always lower than them.

What do you mean by having a higher finance fee? I purchased my car last summer with cash and the Overstock price was honored. One can actually pay less than the Overstock price as I know a person who haggled for the same car I bought and got it for less than me.
