  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GENESIS ANNOUNCES ALL-NEW 2021 GENESIS G80 PRICING; STARTS AT COMPETITIVE $47,700

Why does the 2.5 interest you? I'm actually curious. To save 2.5K? Is that savings worth the cognitive dissonance of ALWAYS knowing that you bought "the cheaper one".

I personally will never get a four cylinder in a luxury vehicle but many seem to be happy with them. Look at Volvo, they only offer 4's. For the G80, the difference between the 4 and 6 in the RWD Standard is $11,400. For the top AWD trim in each it is $8,500.

Well. 11.4K is some big change indeed. I get it. And that 2.5 engine, I've read, is mighty fine. I had finally decided to go "all in" on a luxury vehicle, so the V8 (or bigger) was a must for me (yet brand names (MB, BMW, etc) have never been of much interest to me. I like being different, I suppose.

I had a BMW 5 Series for a few years. 535m actually (company car, I never would have bought it myself). It was a great performing yet rather uncomfortable car. I would never classify it as a luxury sedan - it was a sport-sedan. And a good one. But Luxury? No. Not even close. I'm not sure the interior leather was actually leather (but if it was, I am scared to find out what animal it used to be! Felt more like rubber). That said.., it would get to 120mph quick and you would feel like you were going 60mph. It WAS a great performance machine.

So.., without any concern for brand-names. And reading reviews for the G90 for months. It was an obvious car to check out. First drive? Yep! Ill take it!

I just realized another point, I have posted this in another thread but I think it is more relevant here.

Quite frequently buyers can negotiate down the G90's price to be within the range of $50k - $60k, and this does not require too many haggle with the dealerships. For myself, I got a brand new G90 5.0 AWD at the price of ~$50,2xx.

If G90 keep having such magnitude of discounts, I am not sure how the new G80's pricing will work and what will be its incentive program.

^ Based on the lease deals being offered on the F/L G90 (not much less than for the 7er), doubt going to see those type of discounts.

Plus, what's more worrisome (for the G80) are the discounts and lease deals that BMW and MB are offering on the 5er and E Class.

I know the 0 to 60 subject came up once before for the new G80 3.5. I found this clip really can’t verify it but the number looks good to me.
