Genesis App - Car Finder

Wipe data and cache from the app and try again. If it doesn't work, uninstall/install app.
Still crap. Uninstalled and re-installed. It did do a status refresh but will not do a location or door lock.

I had the same problem last Thursday but now is working ok.
 
Nothing is working. Car is outside. Cannot lock doors, cannot update status, cannot start. Just when I thought things were getting better they turned to crap for 3 days now.

They did send me an email though

Mine doesn't appear to be updating, either. I thought it was, but I think it's only showing my prior location. Just tried a remote unlock and it failed.

I noted the same issue in the other thread on this, system has been offline for 3 days.
Thursday I got a message about system maintenance. Maybe they ran out of 5 1/4" floppies and are waiting for a new box of them.

Locate Car - Worked
Status - Worked
Lock Car - Worked

No errors retuned on any commands. Sorry folks but I don’t believe your problems have anything to do with the servers. if you are using Android instead of Apple, maybe it’s your app. If your are using Apple, maybe it’s your account.

I’m just saying it’s working fine for me.

I’m just saying it’s working fine for me.

It knows enough to send an email saying it did not work so I doubt it is the app. It has to connect for that but it does not send the command.

I just called. There is an outage for the past couple of day. They do not know when it will be working again.

I still have 11 months of "free" so it is a good thing my renewal did not come in the mail today.

So there was an outage for you but not for me or @Beefer (and who knows for whom else) This is just a line they are feeding you because they have no idea what is wrong and don’t expect that you will be talking to other Genesis owners to hear differently.
I repeat, the system is NOT down for everyone. Are you an Android user?

Android. The message I got Thursday when I tried a start was the maintenance was being done.

Obviously I can connect to them because it sends me an email that it is not performing my request. The servers know what I want but not how to give it too me. Could be an Android thing they screwed up when the released the latest version of the app. Either way, it is on them, not me. You'd think after three days they would have a clue.

Just a guess but it could be the Android app is sending an improperly formatted request that gets rejected by the server.
 
I'm having issues as well using the updated Android app. It won't complete a status check, all attempts to communicate fail.

However, I am on a cruise ship using the cruise ships Wi-Fi so that could have something to do with it. But all my other internet traffic is working.

That's possible but it did it before the upgrade too. Mr. I may be right, they dropped the punch cards on the floor and have to sort them. Mine was probably stepped on.

I was having intermittent problems using my remote start via Android app; but I found it was only problematic in certain areas. Maybe drive to the next town over and give it a shot?

I did try it at about 5 miles. All in places with good cell signal where it was reliable in the past. Last known contact was 8:18 AM on 12/12. That is when I arrived at my destination and shut off the car.

Could be a nice accessory like a dash cam.

I read this morning where the Tesla camera got a driver out of a ticket for not using a turn signal. He went to the camera and it showed his light blinking in the reflection of a pickup in front of him. Took the video to court.
