  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys i’m new to the site and to genesis’a itself !

I had a quick question about a manual 2012 genesis couple 2.0L Turbo

I’m thinking about buying off of a seller and i decided to test drive the car, when i was drive it i put it into first gear and started to go, i noticed that apart from my mazda that the clutch was very far from the floor before the car even gave a little pull. when i drive my mazda i find my clutch is about 15-25% out when it starts to pull but with the genesis it was about 80% out and then started, the guy explained to me that every clutch is different and said that’s just how it is. it’s not staged and the clutch isn’t modified in anyway. please let me know what you guys think if it’s the clutch that needs to be replaced or if it’s just how these cars are :)

My V6 Coupe was that way. Clutch engaged at a very different point than the many manuals I'd had previousy. After a few embarrassing stalls, I got used to it. Adding a short-throw setup improved the experience.
