Genesis Connected Services - renew or not?

No, HD radio is part of the radio and HD is broadcast by some stations, not all. It has absolutely no connection to Genesis's 'Connected Services'.
Humm , service manager says that the above is a paid service from genesis. I get hd radio, but no info in the above 3 sections. No one knows why….

This is correct. HD radio has nothing to do with Sirius/XM or Connected Services. Or Genesis at all for that matter, other than they put a HD radio receiver in the car and use the data if someone chooses to broadcast it.

Remember this false info he is giving you when that service manager tells you you need a new 710 cap, or a muffler bearing.
 
I use mine all the time. I would not think of letting it run out.
I leave my car in airport and cruise parking lots all the time and like to check in on my car to see if it is still there and if the battery % is enough to start my car on long trips. (an issue with these cars) Where I live, it is hot and I like to remote start my car from ranges greater than the fob remote will allow. I will start my car from the restaurant or the checkout line so my car is nice and cool. I also like getting a text if I forgot to lock my car and I can just lock it from the phone. I pay less for 3 years that I paid for one year on my Audi and you got nothing with an Audi, well at least in my 2018. I hear they have remote start now, probably because they can charge for it.

But that is me. There is another guy on here that has no use for any of it. Two people with two different opinions. It is all about what you want.
How do you get your connected services to work when the car has been sitting at the airport? My services won’t work when the car has been undriven more than five days!
 
There is no way without going to the vehicle. To save battery power, the modem shuts down when the vehicle is left unattended for long periods of time.

I have never had that issue before where I could not contact my car. That being said, the last trip I took (after I posted that) I was away well over two weeks. On about day 12 or so, I got a text from my car telling me that my battery was low. When I got to the next port, I could not connect anymore. That was the first time I could not connect with my car. I know when your battery gets to a certain point, it shuts down all that electronic crap. I had just not reached that point before. In the past, I have been gone for a while, but not two weeks. Luckily for me, the car started right up with no issues. I had a Jumper battery pack, as well as a charger and two long extension cords and I parked close enough to a plug where I could charge the battery if the jumper did not start it when I got back.
I am not sure why yours cuts off after 5 days.

I've seen posts from various sources that it cuts off after four days. That may vary by model or years but many have experienced it. 1736985675195.webp.

Your talking about the remote start. I don't think I have tried that after 4 days. I am just talking about communication with my car with the app from afar to see what shape the battery is in and where it is located.

It does not communicate directly. It all goes through a computer run by Bluelink. If the car shuts off, everything is out.
 
Yet? What do you expect to change in the future. Haven’t you answered your own question?
I use it all the time.
Let me save you a lot of grief. If you are planning to renew, do not wait until it lapses. It’s not trivial to get it restarted. Also if you don’t get an email, be sure to call them before it lapses
I have a 2021 G80 with 17k miles and tried to renew before it expired on the website at the full rate because I didn't get a renewal offer. My services were discontinued anyway and the tech team couldn't fix it, so I cancelled it. The 2023 and newer models get the service for the life of the car! I don't think it's fair to exclude my car, so I am boycotting them until I am at least offered a special!

There are some mild inconveniences because I never really used many of the features but I don't miss it terribly.

Your is a 2021. You did not pay for what the new cars costs. I’m sure if you want to pay the several thousand dollar difference, Genesis would give it to you for free.

And if you had bothered to call, I believe you would have gotten a discount. Try calling them even now.
I’m sure you boycott will shake them up, ha!

Like Mcc said, call them. I have a 21 and when mine expired in January of this year I did not get a renewal either. I called and they gave me a 50% off code to use and I renewed online.

Same here 2021 that was set to expire in May. Renewed last year with a 60% discount, so I called this year and was given the same 60% discount. $99.00 renewal fee for each of the three services minus the $178.20 discount for a total of $118.80 for a one year renewal of all three options.
 
Never even thought about asking for a discount but will now. I have almost 3 years of the complementary Advanced subscription remaining and have life time "Basic", but love all the remote features so will renew Advanced when it expires too. The comp. OTA Map updates expire next month so I'll try the GCSLUXURY code when I renew that.

Love reading these forums, learning so much along the way.

Just renewed yearl service and 50 % discount
 
Just bought my used 2023 gv70, love it.
Don't love the service subscription it is only good for 3 months and how expensive it is. For a luxury auto and price it should be free no matter what. Even my acura subscription is cheaper and my jeep app is free to all no matter how many owners.
Deffinatley will not renew as I can use my fob to start my car and am always onto of service.
