  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Connected Services

When I use the Genesis connected app on my iPhone and attempt to start the vehicle, I get a "server-side error {C500}. But if I use the Alexa App and give the command "Alexa tell Genesis to start my G70" it works almost every time. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on and how to fix it?
Restart your iPhone and then I would try deleting and reinstalling the app.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Also try it with and without Wi-Fi connection.

Also, if you have quick start toggled on via the app on your iPhone, turn it off and see what happens? My phone still doesn’t like that feature so I leave mine off.

@bartstk18

I’ve had many, many GCS issues just like yours since I bought my G70 on October 2019. First, the issue is never the app. Rarely, it’s on their servers, but that clears up in a few hours.

For me, it has been the head-unit not receiving signal. On the upper right hand corner, you should see a cell phone style signal bar, with 5 bars. If you’re getting full signal, they are all white. No signal, all grey. The first time, my car was at the dealer lot for months before they sold it to me, so the modem went into “deep sleep” and it took them 3 weeks to wake it up.

The second time, I got no signal after updating the head unit firmware. My resets didn’t work, so the dealer had to do some special reset procedure that ended up working. I caved and took it to the dealer after tech support tried waking it up remotely for 27 days straight.

That feature hasn’t worked for me, either.

I did have quick start toggled on. I toggled it off and voila it started. Thanks. Obviously this is a common problem with the APP.
