  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,

I live in Upstate NY and purchased a 2019 G80 Sport on Aug 26th with 2k miles on it from a dealership in Wilkesboro, NC. All transactions, in the buying process, were completed online or over the phone, including a $799 documentation fee. For the pleasure of paying the doc fee the dealership was to expedite my registration and plates etc. in NY. There was no negotiating the doc fee, nor was there an option for me to do myself.

It is now Nov 6th and I have a NC temporary tag/plate that expired on Oct 1st. There is no registration sticker on the front windshield, nor an inspection sticker on the front windshield which makes my car a red flag to be pulled over; which recently happened.

At the beginning of the transaction (Aug 26th) the store manager asked me for the insurance on the car that was being replaced (Audi A7--totaled RIP). He said that they would transfer the insurance from the Audi to the Genesis--I thought this odd at the time.

I then received a phone call on October 23rd from the store manager asking for my new Genesis insurance and that was what was holding up my registration. He notified me 2 months after I bought the car! The store manager at the Wilkesboro dealership has become uncommunicative when I told him that I wanted the doc fee refunded and wanted to handle the registration myself. I also told him I wanted this situation elevated to the GM of Mills Auto Group or I was going to get Genesis North America involved. I have heard nothing from the GM, whom he said he elevated to, and can't find any contact information on Mills Auto Group for their leadership.

Too make a long story even longer, I am having trouble finding a corporate contact for Genesis on their website to elevate the situation.

Does anyone know of how to reach Genesis customer service or care at the corporate level?

Thanks in advance,
Scott
