  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just out of curiosity, is there any participation in this Forum by Representatives of Hyundai/Genesis who may step in to assist or comment on issues that owners have with the Genesis product line? I know on a Cadillac Owners Forum I belong to, Reps from Cadillac, at times, will offer assistance in answering or help resolving certain concerns people have with their cars. It may not have been a bunch of involvement but it was enough to know they were online and monitoring what customers were dealing with, both good and bad. I don't recall seeing any instances of this since I've been a member here.

They monitor, but do not participate.

Kind of like, "I hear you but don't care?"

LOL I couldn't say one way or another. I know for a fact they monitor though; we've seen some vehicle changes come about I believe mostly because of feedback they gathered here (like the color of the DRLs on the DH being switched from amber to white post 2015).

You may be giving the forum more credit than it deserves. That pretty indirect evidence. Maybe you have something more definitive. Correlation does not imply causation.

Well when I visited Seoul when the DH first came out as a guest of Hyundai, at least one employee that I spoke with mentioned the forum in reference to a topic. That may not constitute an official monitoring, but I'd be very surprised if they were the only one.

I do believe we have some Hyundai and Genesis dealers who infrequently show up and answer questions, as well as confirm their stock for local buyers. There were a few on the GV80 boards a few months ago. But I wouldn't consider them brand representatives.

As far as car complaints, there's really no company benefit for any official representative to show up on a forum. They get enough feedback already through their dealerships and officially recognized surveys like JD Power. That data is plentiful, consistent, and more useful to them than anything a forum can provide. Most of the established forum users are already knowledgeable enough about a vehicle that they can provide a satisfactory answer to anyone who asks without needing a rep to step in.

Car forums also tend to be more biased towards the enthusiast base, as well as the one-off unhappy owners with oddball vehicle problems. As a whole, it's a minority userbase for the brand, and therefore not worth their full attention. Smaller enthusiast-oriented brands like Alfa may be a different story though.
