  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Former 2007 Lexus LS460 owner. Owned for 10 years. Sold it with 153,000 miles.

We drove a 2023 G90 today! What a beautiful car and ride. I’m joining the forum to
better understand reliability issues with the brand. Specifically for starters:
Are e-SC models reliable?
Anyone replace the 48v battery or alternator?
What about the air suspension reliability?

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I know how great the Lexus LS460 is/was. In fact, I like it better than the current generation. But the Genesis G90 really is something impressive. I'm an automobile enthusiast so I appreciate all vehicles equally - but in my honest opinion, the G90 is a better car than the current LS500 - so I'm glad to see you're taking a look.

Check out the G90 section at the link below. Your questions may have already been asked and answered there.

You can reply to discussions already taking place - or - if you need to start a new topic - be sure to use a subject title that draws people in who can help. :)

I am not a G90 owner but I am an active forum participant. From that participation I can tell you that when it comes to reliability, a good dealer may be more important than the manufacturer (although both are important).

You can search this forum (all vehicles as the issue of dealer quality doesn't directly relate to any particular product) and you might find a local dealership that has good reports or a local dealership that has bad reports. It would also help if you identified your location so others might be able to chime in and give you feedback.

For example, I have had good experiences so far (18 months in) with Genesis of Scottsdale (nee Earnhardt Genesis North Scottsdale). All other things being equal (of course, they never are) I believe competition can drive better performance so being in a market with lots of quality competition helps. But even with that, one can still have a bad dealership with good competition and a good dealership with bad competition. In my market, there is a huge Penske luxury car collection nearby so a bad Genesis dealership would drive customers to the Penske collection (where I used to be until the BMWs got so ugly and Genesis came out with the GV60P unicorn and I decided not to wait for a Lucid).

The Genesis showroom in Scottsdale is in an upscale outdoor mall and the store next door to it is the Lincoln showroom; across the street is another upscale outdoor mall and that is where Rivian has it sales showroom as does Tesla So...lots of competition.

Having said all that, the G90 gets great reviews and one can get it at a substantial savings compared to the MB S series, BMW 7 series, etc. The old Lexus LS series were incredible vehicles with great reliability. I don't think the newer versions do as well.

Thanks.
So we made the purchase on November 22. 2023 with about 7,000 miles. Quiet luxury.

So! How are you liking it compared to the Lexus LS460?

Before we purchased the G90 we did drive a new LS500 base model. Our 2023 G90 is far above the LS500 in options and much quieter on the road.

I think Lexus lost their way when they started chasing after BMW. The current generation LS doesn't drive as soft as they used to - and aren't as quiet either. Two things that most LS drivers appreciate...
