Selling an extra key fob that I salvaged from my wrecked 2009 Genesis sedan (Sept. 09 build date). This key fob can be programmed for sedans through 2011. With the 2012 model new key fob internals were introduced, which do not interchange with this key fob.
I have a '13 Genesis now and attempted to use this key fob to replace a lost key; and dealership could not program it for the above reason. This key fob comes with a blank metal key which you can have cut by a competent locksmith. It will still have to be programmed by a Hyundai dealer (my dealer charges $30).
By way of information, Hyundai will only permit you to have two operative/programmed key fobs at a time. Whenever Hyundai "reprograms" your key fob, both key fobs need to be programmed at the same time as Hyundai dealer's computer assigns a new unlocking code to the key fobs/car.
