  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GENESIS name badge on back removal?

Looking to make your Genesis unique? Look no further than KDM Warehouse - where orders are shipped immediately!
Well I finally removed the Genesis name plate on the back and replaced it with the winged logo.

TY for all the suggestions. It was so much easier once you have the right tools. I did not even used a heat gun.

TY LQQK. I used the 3M adhesive remover on each letter, let it soaked for about 30 secs, wiped off the dripping excess, and used a fishing line. It came off so much easier than I expected. After removing all
the letters, I removed all excess adhesive, wiped the area clean, applied a glaze and sealant. The dried the area completely. I used a Dremel tool to remove the 2 posts in the winged emblem ( because it was the hood emblem).
Finally, I lined up the emblem the way I wanted it, used a level and centered it and viola!

it was awesome. Just like the 2021 G70 backend just emblem and I love it.
Pics.

Looks really clean. Installed a catch can this morning on my wife's GV70.

Sorry, oil catch can? I did not use any can of any kind. See the steps I took in this thread.

What brand did you go with?
What‘s the part #?
How was the installation process?
I will make a post on it. I use Saikou-Michi catch cans in all my turbo cars. There are cheaper ones and more expensive ones. I find these to be decently priced since they are made to order to your specs. I bought one of their basic cans. The installation was pretty easy, but Hyundai uses some big lines that needed reducers. More on that, plus pictures, when I post. Probably tomorrow.

@LQQK or @Darken would either of you be kind enough to share a side profile pic of the rear badge installed on the cargo lid? I'm trying to determine if the badge matches up nicely with the curves of the GV70 rear lid and has a nice clean install or if the badge almost levitates off the body as the curve of the badge is different than the curve of the body panel. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks!!!

I removed my wing emblem because "I" think it looks too barren between the tails. If the wing was a little wider then I'd go back to it. As for your wondering if it sits flush to the body, The emblem looked like it was a factory-applied part. The thing is if ya don't like it just remove it.

I hate advertisements on vehicles but the GV70 begs for something so it doesn't look so weird. I went with a Black GENESIS emblem.

Doing the same to mine, black GENESIS letter badge and will black chrome my exhaust outlets and front badge. Just waiting for better weather.

My wife has found people standing behind her vehicle wondering what a Genesis is.

I think it looks great, however I prefer the completely de-badged look. I'm definitely removing the GV70 and AWD badges. Still undecided about the genesis.

It doesn’t look bad when you PS but in person it makes the oversized trombone exhaust outlets appear even bigger because of the black shrouded plastic.
If your car is completely cooled down grab some black tape then wrap it around the chrome stand behind it for a while and try to decide what you think. Don’t forget to remove the tape before you start your vehicle.

I usually black out the exhaust chrome outlet on my vehicles but this one is hard to make pleasing to my standards.

I'm like you, I usually black out all my emblems and replace the chrome tips with black ones, but I think on the GV70 the blacked out exhaust tips just don't look right (at least not in the picture). JMO

So you just use a fishing line to pry off the name plate? And it won’t mar or damage the paint?
I used dental floss to remove the Hyundai "H" from my 2013 Gen 1 sedan, then I used Turtle Wax bug & tar remover to remove the little bit of adhesive that was left behind. Slapped the Genesis wings on and I was good to go.
