  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis no existent Valet Service

Here’s something specific that GMA could have communicated to concerned owners, possibly through this forum, without helping the competition or getting hit with a lawsuit from dealers. This indicates that they understand there’s a problem and reveals specific action beyond the generic “we’re working on it”.

Proactive communication can be effective when done correctly.

I agree, I personally think that hiring more engineers is a good measure. However, others might think, and justifiably, show me results.

I also have observed the GMA has never (afaik) communicated anything via this forum. I don’t know if there are legal issues or whatever . Whether anyone in a position to actually make a difference is reading this forum is anyone’s guess.

It was not my intent to upset forum members by asking what Genesis is doing to address common concerns expressed here regarding service . I believe that Genesis management is capable of sharing with concerned owners some insight into what's being done to significantly improve the current state of aftersales service, without giving away trade secrets, whether via this Forum or another form of communication. That's all.
why would they though? its not like the forum is a majority of genesis owners. and i would guess that not a majority of forum users have issues. sure you see threads all the time of "Service is terrible" but usually when things go right, people dont post threads.

it would be like the CEO of whatever company you work for, taking the time to go explain to one low level guy what his plan for the company's future is.

Theyve told us the ultimate goal is standalone genesis dealers. they cant give a timeline because its next to impossible right now to give a timeline for anything. back in 2019 they had planned to have 120+ stand alone dealerships in the next few years. However, covid hit, everything shut down, dealerships struggled selling inventory, and then once things opened back up, the car industry got hit with chip shortages. Now the plan is for ~100 stand alone dealerships eventually.

I’m certainly not upset although it seems that you are. Anything more specific than corporate saying “we are working on it” is an invitation for a lawsuit from the dealers. Things do do get done by corporate will likely be done in back channels. Now if you have some better ideas that corporate should actually do and not just talk, don’t keep them a secret.
Dealers already sued them once because Genesis wanted stand alone dealerships.

I'd have to imagine there arent a lot of Hyundai/Genesis dealers that want to shell out the tens of millions for a genesis specific dealership in this current market. If anything, if Genesis started to push for stand alone dealerships again, and tried to force dealers to build new dealerships, thered be another round of lawsuits from the dealers.

THERE IS NO * ON THE BROCHURE THAT STATES THAT VALET (CONCIERGE) SERVICE DEPENDS ON THE DEALERSHIP.

The cost of the valet service IS IN THE MSRP OF THE VEHICLE. Genesis should have a rebate for each vehicle purchased from a dealership that does not provide this service.

Folks need to report every incident of a dealership not providing this paid for service to the (877) 785-3399 or (844)340-9741. Same thing for MSRP mark ups.

According to Genesis corporate office the dealers that are doing this will be punished with fewer cars in the coming year. So, choose your dealership wisely.
just an FYI, it is stated on the brochure...

Until Genesis creates their own dealerships and get away from Hyundai they will not be a Luxury brand, just wannabees.

So do you think they should come on a public forum and announce they don't have enough people to effectively take care of customers?

I don't see how they could effectively be a part of a forum where the word of the company poster now becomes FACT from the manufacturer. The person delegated to post will be asked questions they are not authorized or knowledgeable to answer and that creates a negative vibe when they don't.

Sorry, i don't see long term benefit from it.

They know that and have been working on it for years now. Have you read the history of the lawsuits and the franchise laws?

My Genesis/Hyundai dealer has until 2024 to complete their stand alone building for Genesis.

The same in texas I have been fighting with my dealership for warranty repair and it was you will have to bring the car in and we have no loaner, or we don't have staffing to do valet. The valet service was one of the many reasons I got my new gv70 red 2022 fully loaded, they have no loaners and are predicting to not have any until September. So I have my fingers crossed that when the repairs are approved there may be a loner or I will be without a car until repairs are done. Not happy about that, but I feel they should extend valet if possible.

I don't know what brochure the poster is referring to but the web site is clear and has an * and statement:
Genesis Service Valet is available for original purchaser of the vehicle from Authorized Genesis Retailers during the scheduled maintenance period which includes scheduled maintenance and normal wear, parts replacement or warranty repairs to your vehicle for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage area varies by retailer. Charges and fees may apply. Contact your Authorized Genesis Retail Service Advocate for details.

This is a bad time to have to work with car dealers. They probably sold what loaners they had as they don't have enough cars to sell. Pays the staff and keeps the lights on.

Just to say thanks for the OP. I was trying to schedule a valet pick up for 3 months here in south FL with no luck. Calling the concierge really helped to get an appointment next week. (with another dealership further away ~12 miles).
