  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just received this email.. Darn. They treated me well there.

Not good news but understandable about the finance end. That is one reason GMA only wanted 100 dealers, the volume just can't support too many.
You're exactly right Ed.

The timing sucks...just when the GV80 hits the showroom and on the heals of the new GV70 introduction. I would think now is the time to go all in on Genesis. Now that KIA has proven it can move Tellurides with an average transaction price north of $40K - I think Genesis is primed to really be a market force.

Got the same email. That's where I purchased my Genesis and brought it for service. I guess the nearest is now Genesis of Plano?

The 150 or so original plan was too low, but what it did was squeeze out the dealerships/groups that didn’t have the financial wherewithal to invest in Genesis.

Crap. That was my dealership and I liked the sales process. Have not had any work performed there though. They never did install a Genesis sign and had more on hand inventory than most DFW dealers. If they have been selling them, odd they are now saying there is a financial commitment required? They had done minimum financial commitment prior. If you won’t put up a damn sign your not spending much money to carry Genesis. This decision explains why some of the paperwork I signed clearly said Bob Stallings has nothing to do with GMA and all warranty work is solely the responsibility of GMA. I’ll now have to go to Plano, Irving or Burleson if I need warranty work. I’m hoping something behind the scenes is not going on and we see more dealers quitting Genesis franchise.

The financial commitment is that GMA wants these dealers to build multi million dollar stand alone Genesis dealers but as EdP mentioned, there's too many dealers and the volume cant support that many. It just doesn't make financial sense.

I get what GMA wants, wants and reality aren’t the same. We all would love stand alone dealers but seem few dealers, if any have done that. Why bale as new models are coming out that might create the incentive to remodel the dealership? Unless Genesis has figured out another way to entice dealers to step up and create a separate dealership and not get sued, would be interesting to know Genesis of Dallas real reason to dump GMA? A large market like DFW, I would think the first dealer to create that true luxury separate dealership and buying experience would have a leg up on all the other metroplex dealers. Those BMW and Audi folks would probably drive an extra 30 minutes to stay away from a Hyundai dealer. Time will tell how all this shakes out.
