  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Let me first say that I don't watch the show and think it should be cancelled. But as I turned on the TV last night to catch the late news there was a scene where the Genny got :15 of fame. The show was Private Practice and you might be able to watch the episode on ABC.com. It was in the last 5 minutes or less of the show. Also, probably the best thing on the show.

Not sure what the scene was about. (had the audio turned down) But one of the stars comes speeding into a parking lot. As the rest of the scene takes place you can seen the Genny in the background.

I think the only reason it caught my eye was because the car looks like mine. (only without the tinted windows)

Hopefully we'll see more of the "star of the show" in the future.:D

It is called product placement, and usually the manufacturer has to pay for it, either in cash or some other compensation.

You would think that if Hyundai PAID for the placement...they would have left the logos on the car???

Heck...they even filled in the 2 holes from the rear emblem...HA!

Sure is pretty though!

If the logos were gone, I guess Hyundai did not pay for the placement. I guess they used the Genesis because not many would recognize it (especially without logos).

The entertainment business hates to give anything away for free. On many cooking shows, they replace all the labels on canned products (or at least turn it sideways so you can't see the brand) if the manufacturer will not pay them for a placement.

If you are watching a movie or an entertainment TV show and the someone is using a computer and the logo is clearly visible, you can be sure the manufacturer is paying for a placement. Coca Cola has paid big money for prominently showing lead characters (assuming they are not playing villains) drinking their cola in movies.

Producers are probably strapped for cash these days and they probably decided to go with the Genny instead of a more expensive vehicle. After all, the Genesis IS attractive enough to be in shows and movies :)
