  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I have not seen or heard anything definitive.
Let's say a new Genesis dealer opens and I have a 2016 Hyundai Genesis, will I go to the Hyundai dealer or the Genesis dealer for service, parts, etc?
Will I have a Hyundai or a Genesis?

please search. it has been covered numerous times.

You will go to the same dealer.

Hyundai is not creating separate physical dealerships for the new Genesis brand and the Genesis will be sold at existing Hyundai dealerships, although maybe not all dealerships. At some point in the future, they "may" create separate physical dealerships for the Genesis.

You will still have a Hyundai according to everything official that matters, such as VIN.

Your local dealerships will "tell you where to go." Besides, many of us will be dead before we have the option to patronize a real, stand-alone, Genesis dealer who does not also service aged Hyundai Genesis models.

Genesis is sold through Hyundai dealers here in the England, but they have to be registered as Genesis dealers and there are very few. In fact, there are only five (yes, 5) Genesis registered dealers in England. It was a spot of luck I just happened to move into a new area where my Hyundai (Genesis) dealer was 15 miles away. Where I used to live, the nearest dealer was 220 miles away. :)

Another way to answer the OP's question is to ponder whether anybody has even heard a rumor of a standalone Genesis Motor's dealership being built in the USA. I sure wouldn't hold my breath waiting for one.

HMA has already stated that the new Genesis brand will be only be sold through existing Hyundai dealers (at least for the time being). Supposedly, not all existing Hyundai dealers will sell them (sort of like the Equus is sold today).
