Genesis .. paint.. end of lease coming up..??

Hi, I havent been on the forum much , but I have 2 problems and I guess this is my first therapy session.
2012 3.8 full package, tech , premium, everything as this was a demonstrator. 46k on the clock.
white with a black roof.

Yes White with a black roof. I took it in about 12 months ago to another dealer that was closer to my work. Tried to have an electrical gremlin fixed. Both headlights would go out when the turnsignal was initiated. Yes, both, ok?
couldnt trace it. Nada. Anyway...

When I picked it up, they asked when did I paint the roof? I went, it was like that when I bought it.. ahem, somethings up. Seems the original dealer painted it.


Now the clearcoat is shedding faster than a long haired cat in the TEXAS desert in the summer.
I think they , the dealer should fix it.


Its turn in time on the lease. I could....do another lease on another, which I won't.

Buy this one out right with a bank loan, get to keep it. Its a really nice car. I have the 7yr 100k on the electricals warranty, so thats a plus.

Or... I could trade it in, lose my butt, as its worth 3 k less than owed on a new Santa Fe Limited.

Personally, I dig the car. Most solid vehicle we own.

Just give me your thoughts please.

its got that skin peeling off the roof. To fix it myself is 500, with the guy that is in the process of restoring my 72 chevelle. Great work...

In 2012, we drove the santa fe and the tuscon, got a fair feel for them and as we were heading back into the showroon, I went,"ooohhh shiny Genesis" so I had her drive this gennie. She loved it, so I bought it for her birthday..

I mean she wouldn't mind getting A santa fe as we have had shared custody of our grandson for the past 2.5 years.

Tonight we were talking about her last vehicle before.. 08 scion because as she said, I wasnt a soccer mom anymore...we are in our 50s. Like that means anything anymore..

Please , give derogatory, something to laff about , anything..

No, I am not selling my pickup.. she did say to buy one new truck and she could drive mine..but see? Shes a keeper. When I told her the chevelle would cost xxxxx to paint, she went", ok"..

Well...I have a '12 Genesis and a '14 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T AWD. The Santa Fe gets most of my attention these days. I like sitting higher off the road and it's faster 0-35 than the Genesis. SFS seats are a bit narrower. Wish they made a Genesis version of the car. The SFS is a great vacation car for two. Fold down rear seats darker rear windows with pull up shades. No doubt the SF Limited would be a posh conveyance for three travelers.

Man tough call. I think I'd be most annoyed at the dealer who put on the crappy paint job.

I don't think there are any specific rules against that. I've seen other folks call out dealerships on here before.

I bought tHe car from NORTH FREEWAY HYUNDAI IN HOUSTON, TEXAS, NOW LOCATED IN SPRING, TEXAS OFF OF INTERSTATE 45.

There I said it.
tonight my wife is telling me the radio wont come on unless she turns it off and on....

Her concern is the gremlins as they never really addressed the light problem with the turn signals.
how much of a problem has that been with forum members here?
