Genesis Reports Increased February 2020 Sales

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 3, 2020 – Genesis Motor America today reported sales of 1,587 units in February 2020, a 4 percent increase compared with the prior year.

“In February, we again achieved a year-over-year sales increase and received more than 6,000 pre-orders for the all-new GV80,” said Mark Del Rosso, President and Chief Executive Officer, Genesis Motor North America. “Perhaps more importantly, we had our brand – and first-ever SUV, GV80 – front-and-center during the Genesis Invitational PGA TOUR Golf Event at Riviera Country Club. There’s nothing like the spirit of competition at the highest level, and Genesis just thrives on bringing these experiences to life for fans and viewers at home.”

Genesis Invitational
For the fourth consecutive year, Genesis partnered with the PGA TOUR, TGR Live and TGR Foundation to provide a premium experience for golf fans and guests at The Genesis Invitational, from February 10-16, at The Riviera Country Club.

The Genesis Invitational hosted 120 world-class PGA TOUR golfers, one of the strongest fields in recent years. The top five players in the Official World Golf Ranking – Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson – joined Tiger Woods in competition for a $9.3 million purse. The winner, Adam Scott, received a three-year PGA TOUR exemption and a winner’s share of $1.674 million.

Accolades: J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, Autotrader Top 10 interiors list
On February 12th, Genesis announced two wins in J.D. Power’s 2020 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). The Korean luxury brand ranked #1 overall and scored a win with its G80 in the Midsize Premium Car Segment. Later in the month, Autotrader editors named the 2020 G70 luxury sport sedan to its ‘10 Best Car Interiors Under $50,000 for 2020’ list. The accolade brings to 19 the number of top industry accolades awarded to the G70 since its debut.

Proud to be one of the 841 G70 buyers last month! Can't wait to see those numbers skyrocket once the GV80 is released.

Glad to see the refreshed G90 is doing better. The G80 is very desperately in need of the new model though.

G90 sales should continue to rise w/ greater supply of the F/L model and G80 sales should get close to its prior heights when the new model launches.

What's problematic is sales of the G70 which should be a good bit higher (once again, the Stinger outsells the G70).
