Hi,

im searching for Genesis Sedan coilover...
And I cant find anything !

Stance GR+ and HSD seems discontinued.

and i dont really trust K-sport..
and ARK coilover are a bit pricy ( 1700 $ )

I had BC coilovers on my old Genesis coupe 3.8 Gt 2010 and they were pretty good.

is it true that BC racing provide coilover for genesis sedan ?I cant find them on the internet.......

thank you

just letting you know you posted this in the sedan thread. other coupe owners will not likely see this.

oh my bad, i didnt see you wrote sedan (I just woke up:)). I was just looking at the little text under your username.

I would also be interested in coilovers for my car. i found some a long time ago but i lost it. ill see what i can find

i knew for H&R spring...

but 1.5 inch is not enough ! :(

I have the only set of coilovers BC Racing has made for the Sedan. The owner and I can't seem to get our schedules together, but I'm hoping we'll finalize it for sale. My attempts to get him locked down hasn't been good.

so... there is no other company who procude coilover for the sedan anymore ?

except : k-sport or ARK ?

I'll ask DGR if they have or not. I doubt they have. Once the owner of BC and I can sync our schedules, BC will have these available. For now, there hasn't been any options other than Ark.

I know. I've emailed him. Waiting on him to call back.

I've had ARK's on my car for the past year and half or so and unfortunately they are now completely shot as if I thought I was in the Dukes of Hazzard and jumped my car over a gorge.

I have ordered both Stance and HSD through distributors and although both are listed as available, they actually don't exist. I waited 6 months for the Stance's and eventually they told me that they pulled the plug on the project so I got my money back after wasting so much time.

For the HSD's I again placed an order after calling and specifically asking if they existed and were in stock. I was told they were and then get a call back after ordering them that they actually weren't in stock and I would get them in a few weeks. Needless to say, after a few weeks I get a call saying that the order came in and mine apparently weren't included in the shipment. They then tell me that they won't be ordering more for about 3 months. I don't get it, if they simply forget to put mine in with the shipment, wouldn't they then just ship them out separately? Just seems shady.

I then most recently ordered K-Sports because I absolutely need some kind of replacement. I placed the order and actually received the product only to notice that what they sent me was the Coupe version. I called and they told me that they verified that they would work for both the Coupe and the Sedan which I debated but they assured me they would work. So I made an appointment to get them installed and right before doing so, K-Sport called me to say that they actually wouldn't work. They said they would need to build them for me and as of today want me to send them photos of my existing coilovers so they can get an idea if it's just a mount difference or more. It doesn't sound promising for sure so I may just get my money back and move on.

As for BC Racing, I've been aware since the end of 2010 that they were apparently working on something but never heard about them again. I eventually contacted them and they told me that they were having some problems with development and actually asked me where I lived so that they could use my car to develop on and work out a deal with me. Unfortunately I'm in California and they are in Illinois so that didn't work out. It appears that this is still a no go from what I hear.

I also talked with ARK again as I currently have their coilovers on my car. This was sometime in November and at that time I was told that they were in the process of coming out with an updated version of their coilovers for the Genesis that were supposed to be available in January. I haven't called back to follow up and see if this was still the case but I probably will.

I'm completely baffled as to why this has been such a difficult experience. Many manufacturers and distributors have listed coilovers available for the sedan but it's just absolutely not true. I can't imagine that there is anything difficult about designing a system to work on the car. I believe it may come down more to the fact that they don't feel there is a market for these parts on the sedan. Of course there are all sorts of coilovers available for other sedans such as BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and so on.

If anyone comes across some good data, please do share it. I'm desperate to replace my existing coilovers and have been so for almost a year. I would even consider buying someone's used ARKs if they have any and are in better shape than mine.

Good luck!

So k-sport do not exist for sedan ??

oh my god.

i'm f***d. :(

Nope. I don't get it myself but they would apparently have to make them for me. It sounds like they don't know where to start and had I not called them today to follow up, it may never go anywhere. They asked me to send them photos of my installed coilovers to compare them against the Coupe or something. Who knows.

I also called ARK to check in and see if they are still coming out with a new version like I was told a few months ago. The guy I talked to wasn't there and is supposed to call me back. They guy I talked to told me that they only ever sold 2 sets of their coilovers for the sedan so apparently I was one of them. They've been out of stock ever since.

I also sent a message to BC Racing to try and get an update on where that situation lies.

I'm thinking now about seeing if I can get my current coilovers rebuilt. ARK told me they were rebuildable and that any qualified suspension shop should be able to do it but they didn't mention if I need special parts to rebuild with and if so, whether they have them. Hopefully I can find out when I talk to them. At least I already have the coilovers and they fit. It's just a matter of the dampers being shot right now so maybe a rebuild would work best.

One more thing... Back before I ever got my coilovers, I got lowering springs from Seoulful Racing that were made by a Korean company called Neotech. Jay Kim over at Seoulful told me that the company also made a coilover setup for the sedan. These are straight out of Korea. I never followed up and eventually got the ARKs but I may have to give him a call and see if this is something that is still available.

I'm just desperate to get something on my car to fix the issues I'm having and I don't want to go back to stock and raise my car again. Even if I only keep something on until a better product comes out, I'm okay with that.

Currently...no. I still have the only one, and we still can't seem to get something going. I feel like it's partly my fault, and I'm almost to the point of driving the car down there and getting this thing figured out. Sorry everyone.

maybe korean version air suspention is a choose for change your ride characteristic, it has 2 mode(sport and comforable) settings, CDC detect road surface and adjust air pressure 1000 times per second. I updated photo as below:

we can see that the air shock made by continental and certified by hyundai and kia, it's a vip version genesis of china, I have asked our local delaer and they have no skills for install, I try to find some article from website of korea but faild due to my poor korean language. So maybe it's a choice which one want to improve ride quality and keep handling, just maybe.
